OK, since my "what do you hate to paint the most" poll is a bit negative by itself
What do you love to paint the most? For me it is Gold lace Insignia / national or unit patches Camo uniforms What do you like best? Cheers, Burkhard |

Hat lace. The little bit of contrast adds so much to the figure, and it is simple to do. Flags. If a nice one is available in the scale I use then there is no need to reinvent the wheel, but if not I enjoy creating one. |

Just about anything Pulp. There's enough historical resources to guide color selection (fashions of the day), but enough variety to keep it interesting. |

Well, I wouldn't go as far as "loving" it, but simple stuff like dry-brushing raised lacing on samurai armor is pretty satisfying. It has to be fairly raised and not spaced too far apart mind you. Lately, I've been really happy with block painting and Miniwax Tudor staining. I was surprised how well it works on Napoleonics; I would've thought the stain would darken the various white areas badly, but it seems to work well for black-lining around these areas (e.g. crossbelts, straps, etc.). Best, Dean |

Let's see . . . Faces and hands. I stink at it, but I enjoy watching the figure leap from plastic or metal lump to a "someone". Rifles, because I'm almost done. |

Spray painting on the basecoat
.or spray painting the basic colors on 1/285 micro armor, knowing you have a 90 percent solution. |

Miniatures I have no use for! I start feeling like it is a job to finish a army or group. So the most fun thing to paint is that lone figure off to the side that has nothing to do with what I am working on. I'll often put more time and effort into doing that than what I need to finish the original job. |

Anything I can spray paint the right color – at least as a base color. WWII armor is great that way. |

Anything 18th century. If it wears a cocked hat, or one of it's many campaign modified variations, I'll paint it. Anything FIW or AWI can get me into a painting jag. And bases. It's the last bit I do on figures (usually), so I know the figure is almost done. |

Uruk Hai armor. Spray black, brush metallic, you're done! And green cloaks. Spray black, drybrush white, paint green, done! Of course, these aren't exactly display quality but they get troops on the table in short order. Bart |

I like doing vehicles. And when I do flage unis I generally don't paint anything flesh colored. Hands and faces should also be flaged. I like Nam tigers and BDUS for US troops and Sand and Spinach for Soviets. |

Painting Zombies and Ghouls right now. Star Wars Bases (Just because it takes so much time, Just finished 18 Wookie Warriors) Next up I am thinking about Pirates. No fuss no muss, No complicated Lace or turn backs to get right. Carthaginians are on the backburner until I finish the basing of the Star Wars figures. VR James Mattes |

Chainmail! A little effort goes a long way. When a non-gamer looks at my figures, it's usually one of the first things they admire. As I get better, I find that hair is just as much fun to paint. |

1/300 tanks. No 1/300 tracked vehicles without turrets. I can churn them out to a decent standard in no time. I did some 28mm MAW Mexicans recently and quite enjoyed going to the other extreme though. |
