The floral embroidery is reminding of the '18th C.' costume traditionally worn by Cavaleiras, the female Portuguese mounted bull fighters:

Well fashion in the 18th century had lots of embroidment to it. Those clothes worn by the female bullfighters look pretty cool, especially the green coat. |
