What software is out for making buildings?

Found Evans, but still not sure how it makes the tabs and areas for glue.

Anyone found others?

ProFantasy software have a product called Dioramas for designing card models that is an add-on for their Campaign Cartographer software.

I've not used Dioramas, but Campaign Cartographer is very good.

I have the Evans program and you add tabs to your drawings as you would any other item when designing your models.

You add them by clicking on the "assorted" button and then choose "paper tools" to get the tabs you need for gluing.

They have video tutorials that help a lot with designing models.

I have Evans also. As shelldrake said you can create tabs using the "assorted" button and then "paper tools".

I generally glue my building walls to foamboard and assemble the shell that way. I only use tabs for details like chimneys and other additional features where foamboard support is not necessary.

I do all my work in AutoCAD, but that's a very expensive program that most people won't have access to. I use it because that's what I use in my real job.

I bought Evans, but forget to use it (still building from the huge printout pile of downloads). I'm also having problems with the interface (need to go through the tutorials again).

I have evans and think its good. There are some limitations but according to the forum they are being addressed in version 2 due out….sometime.

3d design is great if you have the time to master it. And then use yet another program to unfold your model into 2D. There are programs to do this eg. Papakura and ultimate Papercraft 3d. But be warned it's not a simple as it sounds and takes time to learn how to design and unfold them.
Blender is popular for 3d software. I've used google sketchup as it's free and easy to use but isn't really designed for making 2d paper models so is tricky to unfold.

Have fun.

I use GIMP. Free download somewhere on the web. Works alot lik.e Photoshop. Works awsome but all I'm doing is taking pieces from one building and adding it to another. Copy and paste

Sketchup version 6 to desing, Pepakura Viewer version 3 to unfold ( and also make tabs, but I don`t use) and MsPaint to add textures and tabs. Or, as say nebeltex, just MsPaint to make all, but models more squared.

This model above, was made just with MsPaint:
