Did the 2nd, 3rd and 4th regiments of grenadiers and chasseurs carry fanions? I seem to recall having read somewhere that they did and they were similar in pattern to the voltiguer and tirailleur fanions but with a blue ground in lieu of the red or white. unfortunately I cannot track down the article. Any advice would be appreciated.

The usual authorities, Charrié, Regnault, Hollander etc are either not clear on this subject, or silent. Charrié says that in 1812 "in principal" the Old Guard infantry carried tricolor fanions. Dimensions are not stated and further details are, apparently, unknown.
