Seems like we never hear back from people who chose the gift certificates as their poll prizes.

So, how did you spend it? What did you get?

richarDISNEY16 Sep 2011 9:45 p.m. PST

I'd tell you if I EVER WON ANY!
laugh
beer

Striker16 Sep 2011 9:59 p.m. PST

I picked up some western buildings from Total System Scenic.

Andrew May116 Sep 2011 11:23 p.m. PST

I haven't won one yet Bill (hint hint). I 'spose I would if I actually did the polls…. frown

Henrix17 Sep 2011 2:25 a.m. PST

Well, to be honest, I never did, as I didn't get the certificate.

I think TMP had some sort of collapse just when you were supposed to send out the code, and then I didn't pick it up.

Space Monkey17 Sep 2011 2:37 a.m. PST

When I won I just ignored it.

korsun0 Supporting Member of TMP17 Sep 2011 3:06 a.m. PST

give me one and I'll tell you, sort of a market research approach perhaps….:)

Sorry, Henrix… frown

Ed Mohrmann17 Sep 2011 4:05 a.m. PST

Since IIRC you have to submit poll ideas, I haven't and
won't be winning any.

However, if I did, I'd choose the free membership and
ask that it be given to some deserving person…

<<Since IIRC you have to submit poll ideas, I haven't and

Wow, I thought you just had to take part in the polls, not submit. That explains some of the real lame polls and some appearing to win twice.

(I am Spam)17 Sep 2011 6:05 a.m. PST

I've never actually received mine either. However, since I asked for a QRF certificate and they seemed to stop endorsing the polls right after I won thought there might be some sort of link there…

GeoffQRF17 Sep 2011 6:18 a.m. PST

Baddaski, drop me an email and I will look into that.

We stopped doing them only because we got through our initial allocation rather quickly (seems they were popular), although we may do another batch shortly.

Cheriton17 Sep 2011 6:30 a.m. PST

Re-upped on both…

Henrix17 Sep 2011 6:36 a.m. PST

It's ok, Bill, no big deal. ;-) It's more important that the site is up and running.

I'll win another soon anyway. The only question is whether it'll be before I win all those millions on lotto.

Buzzkill17 Sep 2011 6:47 a.m. PST

I thought you just had to vote in the polls, not suggest a poll! No wonder I haven't won anything!

jdpintex17 Sep 2011 7:23 a.m. PST

Put me in the same group as Henrix and Baddaski.

No big deal as I participate in the polls regardless of prizes.

Sysiphus17 Sep 2011 7:35 a.m. PST

I added to the certificate and picked up some nice limber animals from Cavalcade. I think they are water buffaloes, but look the part for my armies in India 1840's. Really nicely done miniatures and the price and service were right.
Thanks again Bill thumbs up

A variety of 14th century troops.
Scots from QRF
Assorted Minifig knights and whatnot from Caliver

The prizes definitely spurred purchases I wouldn't have otherwise made, so they are indeed good for business!

COL Scott0again17 Sep 2011 11:03 a.m. PST

sniff sniff
I missed my chance during a trip with the Army, came back just in time to see that I had missed the deadline. Harumpf

I would likely have taken a membership. Just to see what it is like in Camelot ;)

Henrix17 Sep 2011 11:59 a.m. PST

Oh, it's much the same here in Camelot – better food, fewer peasants, much singing and dancing. It is a silly place.

The Tin Dictator17 Sep 2011 1:42 p.m. PST

Mine was great!
I took an all-expense-paid trip to the Bahamas and was able to attend the next "Playboy goes to the beach" photo shoot.

…. no wait!?….. that wasn't me.
I never won. DARN !!

Jamesonsafari17 Sep 2011 3:35 p.m. PST

Got some spiffaroo gabioned earthworks from Black Cat for my 15mm SYW armies to hide behind.

Ron W DuBray17 Sep 2011 4:30 p.m. PST

had bill give it to a random person whos membership was running out.

Ironwolf17 Sep 2011 8:32 p.m. PST

How many have won a poll more than once??

thatotherguy17 Sep 2011 8:46 p.m. PST

Participated for several months, saw several multi-poll winners. Haven't won myself. Still answer polls when they pertain to me.

Since IIRC you have to submit poll ideas, I haven't and
won't be winning any.

Correction

All you have to do to qualify for a poll prize is participate in the polls. It has nothing to do with submitting a poll suggestion.

Mainly28s19 Sep 2011 12:10 p.m. PST

Participated in every poll except for a 10-day period in which I had no internet access for most of my time here.

Never won anything here yet, so I can't say…

PygmaelionAgain20 Sep 2011 6:31 a.m. PST

All I ever won was a tongue lashing from anti-poll curmudgeons.

I haven't found anyone who accepts it as currency.

Poi00025 Oct 2011 2:54 a.m. PST

Has the poll prixze thing stopped? Not mentioned in a few days, and no open polls, not neccessarily a bad thing :)
