I am after a spaceship for the home of my sci-fi troops.

Something along the lines of the Sulaco

picture

Ideally not something that will be easily recognised (like a Star Wars vessel) and something that has weapons.

Not really 100% sure about the look to be fair though.
Show me something cool and cheap!

Michael.

Easy, Studio Bergstrom's ORCDef ships have the same general lines and can be dressed up with plasticard if you want the fins and antenni and whatnot. Site is here:

but his product photography is legendarily awful. There's a painted example about 1/4 of the way down on my portfolio page that shows one off a little better:

That's the little PT boat, smallest ship in the line. Drew's a good guy to deal with, very fast to respond to questions and ships quick and well-packed. He's also certainly got the "cheap" thing covered – his prices are among the best in that end of the industry for size and weight of figure.

That is a pretty tidy find.
I will certainly consider his stuff.

Ravenstar just announced the release of some new ships, and they look superb!

About $4.00 USD each, and sold in sets of three.

Angel Barracks09 Sep 2011 10:02 a.m. PST

ooooooh I am liking them, especially the broadsword.

How about our upcoming Battle Class Frigate?

Angel Barracks09 Sep 2011 12:17 p.m. PST

Hmmmmmmmmm mayhaps, you got any existing shippies?

khurasanminiatures09 Sep 2011 12:22 p.m. PST

Well, this one exists. grin

I have just been too busy to finish painting it so I can put it up for sale. Same goes for the Cheetah Advanced Light Strike Vehicle. If you really wanted one though I could sell it.

I've backburnered it waiting for the Pelagic Battlecruiser and the Garn Merchant/Warship to go through the mouldmaking process.

The Deisho ships from Ravenstar's Cold Navy line look a lot like the Sulaco in style….and they got lotsa guns.

Angel Barracks10 Sep 2011 12:40 a.m. PST

oooh some tempting things from Brigade.

earthad10 Sep 2011 2:39 a.m. PST

i second the orcdef from studio bergstrom. They are my favourite ships and look great painted up

GypsyComet10 Sep 2011 9:23 a.m. PST

Check out the EU ships here: agentsofgaming.com/otp.htm

The pics are all of the 3D models instead of the minis, but they are "Fleet" scale, and typically less than 2" long.

AGENTS OF GAMING
…HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS EFFECTIVE 1 NOVEMBER 2002.

This not the case then?

Battle Works Studios10 Sep 2011 10:18 a.m. PST

Agents of Gaming is long gone, but one of the former staffers has a lot of old stock (mostly reclaimed from distributors) that he continues to sell. Last I looked he had some of the Turning Point EU blisters left, but be advised, they're rather expensive for their size and do not IMO look as good as the CG artwork for them. YMMV of course – I'm not a big fan of "fleet scale" stuff anyway.

Subject comes up fairly regularly:

GZG's NSL frigates aren't enough?

ooooh GZG, off to a show, will check them out tonight.

Angel Barracks11 Sep 2011 6:30 a.m. PST

Just bought me a GZG one from Colours.

Pedrobear11 Sep 2011 6:33 a.m. PST

Coincidentally, the GZG NSW ships are compatible in style with the Brigade German ships…

evilleMonkeigh22 Sep 2011 3:57 a.m. PST

I like the Firestorm Armada Sorylian cruisers. Cos I'm too lazy to photograph mine here is a random pic

My more unusual pic is Cold Navy stuff.
