Heck even the pictures of this line have been hard to find. link

I know that the resolution is likely poor, but packs 1101 and 1102 look pretty dire. |
clkeagle | 09 Sep 2011 4:03 a.m. PST |
@McWong73 – agreed. I do like 1104 though. Chris K. |

Are these re-issues of the old original GDW lines that came out in the mid/late '70s. 1101, 1102 and 1106 look familiar |

Some of them remind me of something

I'll buy that for a dollar! |
Mako11 | 09 Sep 2011 11:19 a.m. PST |
I don't recall seeing the 1104 minis. Check the RAFM website, if you want better pics of these, since many are available again from them now. They look much better than the pics above, in person, and on their website. |
clkeagle | 09 Sep 2011 3:11 p.m. PST |
@Mako11 – are these the same figures? I thought the stuff RAFM sold was originally Citadel, and the Hobby Products stuff was a different line. Chris K. |
infojunky | 09 Sep 2011 3:34 p.m. PST |
clkeagle you are right. These are NOT the Citadel/RAFM figures. Of the few examples I have seen in the flesh so to speak the pictures don't do them justice, they are well in line with the Citadel/Rafm figures, much better than most of the Martian Metal's Lines
I posted these pictures because this line didn't get distribution much out side of Europe (heck they where rare outside of Germany as far as I can tell), and where dropped from Hobby Products catalog in 1991. The Powered Armor is very much like the Starlords Cybertek but in 15mm. |
Mako11 | 09 Sep 2011 4:49 p.m. PST |
I guess I may be mistaken, but thought they were the same, since the Droyne look very similar. Would love to get a few packs of the 1104, if anyone has any to spare, since they do remind me of the old Metal Magic Spacelords minis. EM4 is selling those now in 28mm scale, but only some of the poses are currently available. |
infojunky | 09 Sep 2011 10:51 p.m. PST |
Mako11 get in line behind me then
8-) This line has been the Holy Grail of 15mm Traveller figures. I have seen 3 auctions for them in a decade. A former member of our 20 year long Traveller game won two of them, the 3rd was over when I found it. |
Mako11 | 10 Sep 2011 3:33 a.m. PST |
Ah well, I guess if they are that rare, will need to just be happy with the larger Spacelords figs. |

Anyone know if these are still in production, or who owns the rights to the molds for the 1104 figs? Would love to see those put back into production, if that can be done, since they look superb! |

infojunky | 17 Sep 2011 12:39 p.m. PST |
Mako long out of production, the owner is probably still Hobby Products, the other issue lies in German/USA IP Licensing law and the disposition of masters and molds at the end of said License. I would love to be able to buy some also.. |
Psyckosama | 17 Sep 2011 12:49 p.m. PST |
Sell them as "Scifi" not Traveler and you circumvent a great deal of IP troubles. |
infojunky | 17 Sep 2011 11:07 p.m. PST |
No more of the issue is wether the masters where returned to the IP owner or destroyed. And if they could be transfered to another party besides the initial contracties. |
Psyckosama | 17 Sep 2011 11:22 p.m. PST |
Ah. True. Still work looking into. |
clkeagle | 18 Sep 2011 3:44 a.m. PST |
Might it be just as feasible to have 3-5 new minis sculpted based on these original designs? Chris K. |
Eclipsing Binaries | 18 Sep 2011 4:00 a.m. PST |
I have a few of these figures. Most were sitting forgotten in the garage until I started my 15mm scifi blog. I have the male adventurers (unpainted), the light infantry (which I've never managed a decent paint job on), the robots, and the power armour – pics of the power armour on my blog at link |
sackofmonkeys | 16 May 2012 11:45 p.m. PST |
Those pictures do not do justice to the figures. Here's a painted example on my blog: link |
Psyckosama | 18 May 2012 9:14 a.m. PST |
I'd love to get my hands on the molds from that line
|
Farstar | 18 May 2012 3:26 p.m. PST |
I'm a little surprised they didn't end up at Ral Partha Europe with the Demonworld molds, or at em-4 with the Spacelords 25mm line. |
palaeoemrus | 18 May 2012 5:20 p.m. PST |
When's EM-4 going to come out with the rest of the Spacelord stuff? |
Mako11 | 19 May 2012 6:21 p.m. PST |
You'll need to write to them, to request more, as I have done. They do plan to release more, but it costs money to remake the molds, which is why only a limited range is available now, so I'm told. |
Eclipsing Binaries | 20 May 2012 8:18 a.m. PST |
The power armour figs are great. So glad I have these. The rest are okay, with some of the adventurers looking like they'e got broken necks. I've just painted two of the droids and will be posting pics when they're based. I'll probably rebase the power armour onto single bases at some point. Wish I'd got the Droyne when they were available. |
Mako11 | 20 May 2012 8:49 p.m. PST |
They are still available from RAFM. Not sure if they are the exact figs as shown above, but are very close, if not. |

alien BLOODY HELL surfer | 21 May 2012 5:55 a.m. PST |
nice enough figures for their age, I've seen worse sculpts recently. |
Mako11 | 23 May 2012 4:43 p.m. PST |
Ah yes, you are correct. Still, for what it is worth, here are links to the RAFM pages, with Dracos, which appear to be a very close approximation of the Droynes, including even one with a knife, overhead: link link |
infojunky | 23 May 2012 9:36 p.m. PST |
Mako11 They are Droyne. Or at least they where when the where sold under the Traveller License
. |
Farstar | 24 May 2012 8:18 a.m. PST |
The RAFM "Dracos" were sold as Droyne by RAFM and GW back in the day. The Hobby Products versions are a bit too attenuated. I would probably use them as that winged slave race from T4, were I inclined to use that race at all. |
