Hey, good terrain builders are always recycling bits and pieces into terrain. That's just the ultimate in recycling. I'm sure the chicken's demise wasn't purely to end up as a terrain piece
dinner probably had something to do with it. It's more like an added bonus. I'd be honored to fight a game over the chicken terrain. Keep on recycling! |

Friend of mine has a pet owl and feeds it a variety of rodents. It in return offered up nicely cleaned skeletons which often made there way to the gaming table. For those who are not so lucky, you can actually pick them up from a variety of sources: link Toss them in a pot of boiling water to separate the fur from the bones and to sterilize anything which might have survived the digestive juices. They provide much smaller bones, many of which are a pretty good match for miniatures. |

Seems like a good idea to me. If I've already cooked and eaten the chicken then boiled the carcass for stock, why not also find a practical use for the bones? People have been carving jewellery and the like from bones for centuries. The more use I get from the animal, the less guilty I feel about its death. |
