I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. The new 15mm Chinese PLA Heavy Weapons packs are up on the site! Jeff Racel did an amazing job painting these and I am glad to finally have these done!
You can see them at Rebelminis.com Thank you for your support! |

It's awesome and I'll probably be buying some(Love the sniper pose alone.), but the pack's contents sort of confuse me
. Shouldn't the HMG be in it's own pack with say
two HMG teams that have a loader and a team leader/spotter? Likewise, the sniper needs a spotter. I don't know if the Chinese have much in the way of SAWs/LMGs. I'd bet they use an RPK or an RPD Clone for now until they can finish modernizing. |

They have a SAW type weapon which isn't an RPK/D clone, but can't for the life of me remember its name. |

They have the QBB-95, which is the LMG version of the QBZ-95. They also have the QJY-88, which is a belt fed weapon in the same caliber but which weighs the same as the PKM and supposedly is used in the GPMG role. |

"I don't know if the Chinese have much in the way of SAWs/LMGs" They do, but it is essentially a QBZ rifle with a bigger mag and a bi-pod, that's all. |

Here is the link to my post last night with more pictures. TMP link Dennis0302 provided this link to a TO+E for PLA Mechanized Infantry. Looks like they have mainly Rifles, an LMG that may be the SAW version of the QBZ-95 and a RPG. If this is the case, you can designate one of the QBZ-95s as a QBB-95 and then the RPG gives you all you need for the unit with the HMG and sniper as extra. Many units today seem to now include a dedicated marksmen (sinper), so you could even work that figure into a unit. It would be nice to have a loaded for the HMG, but not 100% necessary for me. It already takes a larger stand and more games treat the gun as the unit (firer and loader), so no big deal to me (less Flecktarn to paint!!!). Jeff Jeff

I think Prussia should do work more on trade with China. |

Are their helmets a US pattern Fritz helmet or the new Russian helmet or have they done their own thing? |

About friggin time Mate! Well done! Hope the command pack is not far behind! Id like to see the machinegun sold as a separate item with a loader. Great paint job Jeff! |

According to the mentioned link, the Chinese mechanized units have 9 men, 7 with rifles, one 'machine-gun' (Auto rifle like a typical SAW or LMG like an RPD/RPK is unspecified) and one RPG. Foot platoons make use of 11 man squads with the extra two men having an additional RPG and squad level Machine-gun. So, they sound pretty well armed overall. Hopin' the command pack will have some sort of squad level machine-gun so I can make some foot units. Then when we start seeing some modern chinese vehicles in 15mm, I can just cut out the extra two guys when I want to make them mechanized. |
