My Warmaster armies have expanded considerably over the last 6-9 months as they have been having regular table time. I now have a good 10,000pts painted (and probably the same again in bare metal
) These are 10mm figures, with the majority from Games Workshop. The biggest force is High Elves
More detailed photos here kerynne.com/games/WMElf.html My Empire troops are rather fewer, but more colourful
Full details here linkAnd Dogs of War army uses key units from Empire and adds quite a few others. This army uses a lot of Pendraken figures.
More pics here link My Orcs are languishing in the painting stakes, and Araby is my latest acquisition with this army being a mix of GW, TB line and Magister Militium figures. |

Very nicely done. I also no longer feel bad about the amount of WM stuff I have :) |

I'm still kicking myself for not having a lot of WM stuff. Two different local stores sold their whole stock at $1 USD a pack within a year of each other, and I passed on it in favor of Epic and BFG both times. Stupid, stupid, stupid decision. |

I notice use of the Bo5A troops in your armies. Nice job of mixing them in, and a versatile approach as well. |

That is quite a sight! I have an even bigger Dwarf army but only 2/3s are painted. The Empire force I have is probably more in the 3K range (although all painted), and my Khemri Undead is a low 2K. I lucked out recently when a friend who used to work for GW divested himself of his Kislev army still in the blisters. $100 USD for a huge 2500+ point army. Still need War Wagons, though
I got excited all over again about WM when another buddy brought his enormous Forgeworld Warmaster castle over yesterday. With what he had I can make a castle that will pretty much fill up a 4 x 6 table! With all these goodies I'm just about set to run the Chaos attack on the gates of Kislev that was featured in an old Warmastrer Mag. |

Pablo, I am really jealous of your Skaven army! I have always wanted one but just can't convince myself that any Warmaster army could be worth the kind of money it would cost to field around two thousand points. |

Very cool work! The B5A troops are a great addition (I use them myself for the same reason). The painting is top-notch but I especially want to call attention to your basing. The empire pistoliers are very well done. The 20x20mm mag bases are excellent, and solve a perennial problem in 10mm fantasy gaming. When we play Warmaster (fantasy), we base our light cav towards the short edge of the base. When we play Warmaster Ancients, we base towards the long edge. How has this worked out in practice? Do the figures stay in place, or is it a mess? I've heard people suggest these half-bases, but never seen one actually in play. |

I have tons of that stuff. I tried painting it but I could never figure out the right technique. It took ages to do just one stand of pikeman. I've seen people with really detailed paint jobs and I've not got the skill to match that. |

Thanks for the kind comments chaps. GLad to hear there are lots of othe big WM armies out there. 10 mm really lets an army look like an army, not a skirmish. Magnetic basing I've had a couple of goes at this to try to get it to work. The method that seems to work is rare earth magnet in the figure base (1 is enough for 20x20) then either use steel bases or for larger bases I have used metal paper on plastic card, but steel definately gives the most stick. I initially tried magnetic sheet, but there just isn't enough grip. Painting wise, practise helps, my newer figures are better than the older ones. Also choosing the right base colour is important. I use black, white or brown as required. Black is great for figures with lots of armour, but does bring the overall colour brightness down. The multi coloured Empire figs are mainly done over a white base coat, with a brown wash at the end to hide any gaps. The BoFA figures are very useful and great value. I have a lot of the Goblins for my Orc army, as I prefer them to the metal black robed night goblins. Nazrat the Pendraken war wagons are pretty nice if you dont want to spend silly prices for Kislev on eBay. |

Yeah, I will definitely have to go that route since the last one I saw on eBay went for about $60! That's beyond the pale as far as miniature pricing goes. |
