I have just this morning taken delivery of the new Pike and Shotte 6mm scenery from Total Battle Miniatures.
The "problem" is not here yet as such, but it became clear as I looked at the new stuff in the flesh.

When they released the Spanish Hill Town I was gobsmacked.
It was an amazing piece of work, their best 6mm ever.

They told me what was in the pipeline and how even better that would be.
I was of course dubious.

However the new stuff IS even better than the stunning Spanish Hill Town.
The Walled Town is bonkers big and full of period character.

They tell me their next 6mm thing will be even more fantastic.
BUT this is the thing, how long until they explode in a shower of making things better?
Can they keep making nicer and nicer 6mm scenery?
How much great stuff can we take before we go mad with excitement?

I am not sure how they do it; I am just very glad they defy convention and make new and exciting original buildings that are simply stunning.
But I worry for their sanity and that is the problem, can they keep up the awesome work before they go mad?

Oh, here is a shot or four of the new Walled Town to give you an idea of why I worry so.

Holy cow! I don't do 6mm and I want one! That would be fantastic, just to paint!

Yep, they're doing some absolutely amazing stuff – and as you said, they just keep topping themselves.

Awe, c'mon, that's so obviously just a digital rendering ;-)

I was just looking at some of their 20mm stuff and it looks amazing too. This piece is almost enough to make me game in 6mm. Almost…

Well I guess I could use that in my OGRE games………..

Maybe not.

NoBodyLovesMe31 Aug 2011 12:47 p.m. PST

Their stuff is superb, I'm just trying to somehow justify buying the bigger pieces/sets even though they are for periods I don't play.

Hmm…Oldgrenadier might have it…."that would be fantastic just to paint"!

Just a shame they don't currently do anything specifically for WW2 as i'd be first in the queue, cough, cough, hint, hint.

If you think this is good – wait till you see the 25mm Scotish stone houses!

These folk rock.

Wish they would do 15mm Dark Ages and 6mm SciFi and and and and…..

If you get to a show where they are go talk to them – so enthusiastic for the gaming world its great to talk to them.

I think I may have to take up fantasy just to have a reason to buy that model though.

Michael – is the grey base hard or soft? I did get a surprise on the flexibility of some of the 'mounds'.

Angel Barracks31 Aug 2011 2:23 p.m. PST

Hard like the Spanish one.

`mounds`?

Ken Hall31 Aug 2011 2:50 p.m. PST

Hell's teeth, that's fantastic work. They put that out in 10mm, I'm doomed -- DOOMED, I tell you.

Cherno01 Sep 2011 4:00 a.m. PST

Those buildings look really nice and have great detail, especially considering that they're 6mm pieces.

Even better detail up close to the naked eye too.

Gen Phred01 Sep 2011 4:57 a.m. PST

Absolutely incredible, really can't believe they are 6mm. Great work.
