A recent post got me thinking about how others paint white uniforms.

So what colour do you paint your Austrians:

1) Brilliant white – they should be able to see in the dark due to the luminescence of their uniforms

2) White – they look like they are about to star in a washing powder commercial

3) Off white – 18th century technology meant mass produced whites were not as white as in the 21st century.

4) Off white or white with light washes – to suggest shadows or a hint of dirt

5) Off white with darker washes – to give the lived in look

6) Off white (with patches or individuals in non-matching trousers etc?) with a mix of washes – real campaign look such that you can even tell which units have been suffering from dysentery

7) I don't do Austrians

8) I don't do any troops who wore white as it is to hard to get it to look right

9) Other

Black undercoat
Vallejo light grey
Vallejo white grey (previously known as flat aluminium, it's an off-white)
and then pure white for the belts
