A quick reminder that the naval Wargames society and the Portsmouth Naval Base Proprty Trust are running a Naval Wargames Weekend at the Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower at Gosport**, Hampshire. A variety of demonstration and participation games are being run in the museum, ranging from medieval naval action in the channel in 1217 and the Wars of the Roses (a naval game in 28mm) through Napoleonic actions (the battle of Lissa and privateers in the Caribbean), the battle of Hampton roads (fought out several times with a variety of rule sets), Koh Chang 1941, Pacific war action in 1/700, WW1 seaplanes versus Coastal Motor Boats in 1/2400 and maybe even the Cod Wars. games are being run on Saturday and Sunday.

The Surface Warship Association will also be holdinga model display including a vast collection of 1/1200 warships and radio controlled model boats on their portable boating take which will be on the lawn of the museum. Watch out for my kiddies and their Japanese MTB :)

Hope to see some of you there!

(** in the UK – sorry for those of you in Virginia)

PS – for those of you that contacted me earlier, the Privateer sheets will be available after the show, so I hope to get those out to you on Monday or Tuesday.

Sounds like it will be a lot of fun. I wish I could make it over there.

I'm looking forward to hearing how the medieval game turns out.
