Felt like sharing any ways:

Taken using a Fujifilm Finepix "z90". The backdrop was a bit of white poster board and the light source was a lamp. I am guessing I either -really- need a light box or this kind of camera is not cut out for it. I read an article on how not to fail badly at camera-ing, but I couldn't find a setting to adjust "aperture" so apparently it's harder for me to avoid getting shots where one thing is in focus but the rest is blurry.

Thoughts?

A light box should help considerably, but that's the best I can offer (my photos are mediocre at best, but they do the job)…

Use more light than you can stand instead of flash. Seriously. If it's too bright, you probably got it right. I have 3 desk lamps combined with overhead lighting. Good results with my old Fuji camera.

Not bad, even with the bad pics you can see you put in some love on the figures. :P More than I'm putting on my Federals anyways.

Yeah these guys I think I put a lot of effort into compared to the previous batch of 15's I had done (CMG Arc Recon). The under-armor is VGC Khaki, equipment is VGC Desert Yellow, visors are VGC Goblin Green, armor is Reaper Ash Gray. Bases were done with wood putty, into which I pressed cat litter. Colored earth, with a post-wash drybrush of khaki. The whole thing was washed in, if I'm not mistaken, Sepia.

They are (in an abstract way that has kind of fallen on the way side) a homage to CnC Tiberian Sun's "GDI" forces, though at the time I had just finished a desert yellow 40k Space Marine force and I did not feel like doing more Desert Yellow (which is a close aproximation to this:

I use them as game pieces for Fast and Dirty, where they exist as an aggressive branch of what amounts to the UN in that universe. Air-cav, the whole force – for now. There wasn't a whole lot of info as to how things were organized in universe (because it didn't matter) so I'm taking liberties and making interpretations.
