Yes – I can't function withoot one
No – people who take part in this hooby should be able to spell properly
Er – it already has one

Florida Tory19 Aug 2011 9:53 p.m. PST

It already has several, and they know who they are.

No…chances are pretty good that your web browser has one built in (or has a plug-in to do it).

Chrome and Firefox both have it built in. ieSpell will do the job for Internet Explorer.

Having a good suit of dyslexia helping programs tuned to my problems I know from experience that a unexpected extra "spell checker" can be much more of a problem than a help.

If you need your spelling checked (as I do) it is much better one that is yours (such as pointed out by ScoutII) and you know and trust rather than a unknown on a internet site.

No – I use a plug-in and force myself to read the babble I have posted before pressing submit!

Does not always help grammatically but is a lot better than my hand writing.

Spellcheckers are designed by software engineers that can't spell.

After being taught by Nuns, you can't help but become THE ULTIMATE SPELL CHECKER!!!!!!

So there.

We must first find a speelchecker that does not insist that "wargaming" is a Bad Word. I could never convince Word's spellchecker, and that is probably because Bill Gates is a Commie Lib. grin
And if you could find a grammar check that did not hate the passive voice…

It already has several, and they know who they are.

I used to be the TMP Grammer, and, Speling Facscist™ but I am retired. The pay sucked.
However, I am now a Grammer, and, Speling Facscist™ Emeritus and will come out of retirement occasionally to entertain at parties.

Are you making fun of my half asleep "hooby"? It's ok…I'm laughing at myself for that one! Thankfully, Bill fixed it…

When I am really worried about it I write in Word, cut, Alt-tab over to IE and paste. Most of the time I just let the spell-Nazis take me to task and I blame it on:

A. Drink
B. Tired
C. Opps
D. My physical injury
E. Some form of mental condition.
F. Left Handed using a right handed keyboard.

No – I can still read misspelled words, no doubt you can too.

John D Salt21 Aug 2011 2:47 a.m. PST

I can still spell words, no doubt you can too.

All the best,

John.

Pizzagrenadier21 Aug 2011 2:34 p.m. PST

Alt-tab over to IE

See, there's where you went wrong, right there.

StarfuryXL521 Aug 2011 9:17 p.m. PST

Needs more hoobies.

Ranger32222 Aug 2011 9:16 a.m. PST

So from now on we replace the current standard poll option with "needs more hoobies"?

Ranger32222 Aug 2011 9:17 a.m. PST

I totally missed Starfury's comment before I posted. Beat me to it by a day. Curses.

StarfuryXL523 Aug 2011 7:33 p.m. PST

Well, half a day. grin
