I am in the process of wrapping up a commission job for Two Hour Wargames, and thought I'd share it with you. The minis are for Ed's upcoming Weird West rule set name "High Moon – Dead Reckoning". The minis are by Pontoonier, and are very good. They are close to true scale 25mm. If the rules are as good as the minis that Ed chose to show case, he's got a winner on his hands, and players have yet another very enjoyable option for the table top.

The one munching on the goat is probably my favorite mini out of all these posted.

The collection is not complete, as I have 3 Aztec vampires and a Confederate Vampire clan (1 Confederate Officer Vampire, 2 male vamps, and 2 dance hall vamps) I have to complete, as well

Werebear Clint Eastwood, that's a novelty. True 25mm is a little small for my tastes since it won't work with either Deadlands mini range, but it won't matter with some of the stuff. I see the sculptor used proper photo references for the hodag:

I wonder if the game was inspired by the Bureau 13 prequel novel Damned Nation?

The monsters, of various Flavor will work perfectly with other ranges. Some of the humans are a bit on the small side to work with say Artizen, Deadlands or other manufacturers. Buy what you can, and keep Pontoonier in business, as he makes quality stuff.

Not sock puppetting, just giving my opinion, after staring at these things for hours on end.

Those werewolves are awesome! I may have to consider some of them for my Deadlands stuff. They might even do well as some OORD Skinwalkers for AE-WWII.

jpattern218 Aug 2011 7:09 a.m. PST

Dan is gonna love those Chupacabras.

But surely Tuco should have been a wererat: "Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez, known as The Rat."

If they're a bit smaller than Artizan, they might just scale in perfectly with my (mostly old-school Foundry) Mexican VSF and my mate's (mostly Perry) Confederate (soon-to-be-VSF) armies…

Any chance of a scale shot next to some other manufacturers' figures?

Sorry, you'll have to ask Ed, as I have already sent them to their new home.

Geography Lesson: The desert scenery belongs in WEST Texas. East Texas is noted for its coniferous forests (aka the Piney Woods), and is home to numerous fishing competititions due to the large number of lakes – so the Hodag would be right at home (beats wintering in Green Bay).

Turbo Pig Fezian18 Aug 2011 8:28 a.m. PST

Heh, RST, that's what I thought; Ed said they would work for East Texas, too, so I just ran w/ it.

Makes sense about the Hodag, though. Well, as much sense as one can have when talking about a Hodag romping in the cactii of East Texas :-)

I wonder if the game was inspired by the Bureau 13 prequel novel Damned Nation?

The game? Nope. The minis, have no idea. High Moon has been in the works as a supplement to Six Gun Sound since 07 and not familiar with Bureau 13. If it's a game I wouldn't know of it as I do not look at other games so as not to be influenced. I'm sure it's pretty good like Deadlands as it seems to get good mentions from gamers.

Decided to push it forward when Pontoonier contacted me earlier this year.

Great stuff Garren.

Smith 2404 – I haven't any figures for that period besides these, not even any Cowboys. Any suggestions as to next to a ruler or something?

Next to a ruler would be perfect! Thanks, Ed.

Turbo Pig Fezian18 Aug 2011 11:37 a.m. PST

Ben, from Pontoonier, just sent me his contact info, and a listing of all the Weird West stuff he has…holy moly there's a lot! What's here is just small portion. His website will be up some time in the near future; he will take orders now, though. Here is the pertinent info from his email:

"or email bchecota@lhf.biz. Email works best as I have 24-hour access."

I've I am correct, he's on US Central Standard Time, so be considerate with the phone calls

Way Way too cool! Sasquatch better watch out for that cactus in front of him, it looks like it might be kid of tall!

There was a rather nice wild west horror comic series called 'High Moon' out a year or so ago which some of these figures could be used for…
