I have been doing my 6mm FUBAR project for a few weeks now and have bought a variety of vehicles to use in my games. Here is a quick line up of some of them to give you a ROUGH idea what to expect from each manufacturer and hopefully to make you aware of some of the cool 6mm sci-fi vehicles out there. They have all been put on a plastic base so that they are starting at roughly the same height as the Plasma Blast Games 6mm sci-fi troopers, hopefully this will give you an idea of their size. 1 Brigade Models – Hippo Heavy Truck – Flat Bed Version 2 Brigade Models – Hippo Heavy Truck – Bowser Version 3 Brigade Models – Hippo Heavy Truck – Office Body Version 4 Xmarx Tanker Truck* 5 Xmarx Supply Truck* 6 Steel Crown Productions – Guild Enforcer Urban Pacification Squadron MKII 7 Plasma Blast Games – Hammerhead Heavy Tank 8 Reiver Castings – Heavy Tank – Tracked 9 Adler Miniatures – Kh'Erian Main Battle Tank (East Wind) 10 Adler Miniatures – Python Main Battle Tank 11 Dark Realm Miniatures – Pax Arcadian – Chasseur 12 Dark Realm Miniatures – Pax Arcadian – Castellian 13 Dark Realm Miniatures – Pax Arcadian – Ramjack Armoured Personal Carrier 14 Ground Zero Games – Paladin heavy hi-mobility wheeled battle tank 15 Adler Miniatures – Scorpion Armoured Personal Carrier 16 Ground Zero Games – Phalanx heavy hi-mobility wheeled APC * both of these are their 8mm version, I did get the 6mm versions but thought them too small compared to a 6mm figure.
I will at some point be sharing more of my 6mm sci-fi purchases. Michael. |

Great comparison shots there, Michael – loving those X-marx tankers! They'd grace any future space-port or refinery
thanks for sharing them with us. |

Very handy, don't see a ton of good multi-company size comparison shots in 6mm. Thanks for the reference material. |

Must resist the urge to dabble in 6mm
Give in to the dark side! It is your destiny! Doug |

Resistence is futile Big Jim, especially as you live sooo close to me! |

By the way if anyone needs more info on any of the above, drop me an e-mail through my site. Happy to help. Size Matters! |

Well I guess one or two wouldn't hurt and I have had my eye on the Ground Zero stuff for a while
@Angel Barracks Very true and the missus wants me out of the house more. I'll have to give it some thought. |

AB, I like your take on 6mm. So many of the vehicles and aircraft are not to scale with the infantry. For instance #7 Plasma Blast Games – Hammerhead Heavy Tank seems a bit small. I really appreciate seeing pics of vehicles with infantry for comparison. Al |

No worries Allen57. I think we discussed this around helicopters? I spent quite a bit on various models looking for the right feel for what I was after. Dimensions are all very well, but no-one gives dimensions on doors or hatches so seeing a 6mm figure really helps you figure out if they are what you are after. Shame I only the stock the Dark Realm or this thread may make me rich! |

Very nice mix ! |

Beautiful.Nice selection. Good pictures/angles. I wish I didn't find 6mm too small for platoon level games. |
Angel Barracks | 17 Aug 2011 12:24 p.m. PST |
Thanks, also thanks for saying that you find 6mm too small. Many people in your position would say it is too small period. Which given that people do use it for platoon games it is clearly not.

Thanks for sharing your pics. A shame that the Plasmablast vehicle is so much smaller than the rest. I really like the looks of it, but it certainly doesn't match up well with the other armor. |
Angel Barracks | 17 Aug 2011 1:14 p.m. PST |
Thing about that is that the other tanks are larger than most. I will sort out some images of light and medium tanks where the PlasmaBlast one will seem less tiny. |

I'm a vacchead, and must say, *I* really appreciate the photos! If I had a quibble, it's that they're from only the front and one side, but getting them altogether quashes ANY quibbles. I'm probably on billlthecat's corner, but I used to feel that way about 15mm's. ;->= By the way, to save anyone from having to dig to get your website, I'm assuming you mean: angelbarracks.co.uk As part owner of a store on this side of the briny, I feel your pain AND wish you luck! Thanks for putting up those photos
definitely helpful. Most of my stuff is GZG or GW
but those Dark Realm ones look like they'd fit in nicely. |
SteelonSand | 17 Aug 2011 3:37 p.m. PST |
In defence of Plasmablast, they do have some vehicles that are quite a bit bigger
..

plasmabast is not too small! scales up nicely with other ranges. Sure some of the tanks are smaller

Good stuff for Future War Commander. It's so nice to see photos of models like this because not all the sites have good pics of their models. |
