Hey Guys,
Need a ACW skirmish set of rules,
Company vs Company, 30-40 figs per side.
Would love it to have some sort
of point system.

No such thing as far as I have ever seen. Brother Against Brother has no points system, nor does Terrible Sharp Sword. I don't know of any other skirmish-oriented sets but those two are a lot of fun, the latter being far better than the former.

What about 61 65?

I don't know if it has a point system, but the rules are based on the Song of Blades and Heroes rule system, and that'll make a fun game!

As stated, Sixty-One Sixty-Five fits the bill exactly, except for the idea that the company is represented by 30-40 figures. In those rules they are about 90 figures.

Fun game, well worth the purchase.

Thanks for the tip. Sounds interesting, and the price was right (I'm a sucker for instant-gratification PDF downloads).

I've only given them a very quick glance, and this is my first ruleset from Ganesha, so no prior "Song of Whatever" experience or exposure, but:

a) Very nicely organized. Love the layout, font choice and the occasional artwork. And …

b) LOVE that it says games were designed for 28mm figures on a 3' x 4' table. I have a 4' x 6' and 28mm figures, and it bugs me that other skirmish games want a 5' x 8' table. Sure, I can trim down the scenario sometimes to fit, but really, a 4' x 6' to me is the standard "non-club" USA table size, and it's nice to see these rules cater to that. And …

c) there is a one-page rules summary (always nice to see). And …

d) There is a points system. It's basic, and that's all it needs to be. It's more fun playing scenarios and not worrying about points, but if you are trying to get somebody interested in a new genre, it helps appeal to many that you can associate some sort of value to a trooper with such-and-so weapon and quality ranking.

Overall, my quick scan uncovered some nice stuff. Looking forward to giving them a thorough read and hitting the tabletop with some minis!

Wondering why they were not called Song of Blue & Grey, but I digress …
