Heroscape: Road to the Forgotten Forest

It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

TMP link

I see 3 posts but the counter only shows 2. Does the counter depend on text exclusive of links?

John the OFM29 Jul 2011 9:53 a.m. PST

Not really.
A LOT of times lately, I get a cockamamie "error message". My post appears, but is not counted in the total. This even happened when I tried to start a thread.

Sundance29 Jul 2011 10:51 a.m. PST

For some reason some of the post counts are incorrect.

It's the database, John, it has started rejecting you. because of all those poll suggestions. You better start sending more pictures of ponies or something, to get back into its good graces.

religon29 Jul 2011 11:08 a.m. PST

It sounds like the hamsters are wheezing a bit.

(I doubt the database has it out for John unless it is in cahoots with Watson.)

You never know…

No-one else has reached those rarefied heights* and lived to tell… it must be some database critter that John disturbed when he got close to 60,000 posts. I've read enough hentai to see where this is going…

*the oxygen-deficient Heights of Hyperbole, I believe he got there by a traverse to the Chute and then up the eastern face of the Natterhorn. It's a good thing he generates his own 'air'…

The counter has been messed up for quite some time, especially when for some reason the topic gets double-posted. In those cases, one is frequently significantly higher than the other.

Undercounts seem to be the most frequent bug.

I woulod have thought that my recent 7 Day DH would have been enough to slow me down, but NOOO!!!! Dear Editor has to throw bugs at me too!

As of last night's "maintenance period", I am 37 short.
Tomorrow, I will post my traditional Ozymandias thread.

Honest! It doesn't mean anything to me! grin
All it is a reminder of how much time I have wasted that could have been spent painting.

Cpt Arexu29 Jul 2011 12:01 p.m. PST

That's the hypoxia speaking, John, crack that green cylinder open a little more…

religon29 Jul 2011 12:06 p.m. PST

60k is nothing to sneeze at. I lesser man would have only wasted that time on wine, women and song.

I would guess that the code TMP has updates the counts once a day.

Running that query every time someone wanted to know would really tax the system and it is not a required function for the site to provide its functionality.

J Womack 9407 Apr 2012 8:20 p.m. PST

Well, the time would have been wasted on the wine and the song.
