So, it will soon be crabbing season off of Korea, and both sides are itching for a hypothetical fight.

Any good civilian vessels to protect or harass in either 1/700th, or 1/600th scales?

Smaller fishing vessels, or larger trawler types would be fine.

Probably could use a modern cargo vessel or two as well, if any are available also, for the obligatory blockade scenarios.

If not, guess I'll need to switch to 1/1250th, but the cost may be prohibitive, since those can be very expensive.

Try Coastal Forces, as they might have something that can be used as such.

Check out these. I picked this up, very cool stuff.

There is a nice mix of ships in the pack. Some very asian design, some generic small craft.

I'll second Chris' recommendation about the Loose Cannon ships.

The kit includes a couple small fishing ships and a bunch of junk type ships.

I'll try to get some pictures of the ones I've painted up on my blog.

Can't recall the company's name right off but there's line of 1/600 resin WWII coastal that would have trawlers. It's right on the tip of my tongue but can't quite get it right.

PT Dockyard – that's it!

Edit2: Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that they have any trawlers – even militarized ones – after all.

Skytrex does some older, WWII style ones which could be pressed into service, but I was hoping for something a bit more modern.

I put up a short post on my blog with a couple pictures of some of the boats from the Loose Cannon Productions kit.

The 1/700 Pit Road JSDF missile craft come with two small diesel/petrol craft that look a bit like small commercial fishing vessels.

Found the kit…

The shop that I bought them from doesn't have any in stock
