@Hayden

"What exactly you think near future lines?"

I guess that would be troops pretty similar to today but more hi-tech helmets & body armor. Anything that will work for 50 to 100 plus years from today as Earth troops.

"What about islamic federation troopers from ground zero games?"

I like those in "concept" but not in form. I think they were a novel idea when they came out but they look quite outdated compared to other 15mm sci-fi minis out these days.

If GZG gave them the makeover they are giving their other lines (NAC, New Israelis, etc…) then I would be 100% behind them!

Focus on that at first and then at least at the end of the initial process you will have something that fulfills a measure of you in miniature.

I personally would not worry about a particular rule set at this point.

There are a bunch of interesting 15mm projects going on right now and to find a certain lacking niche is not going to be as rewarding as making something that means something to you, IMO.

thumbs up

"I bought some of the new marines. But I hardly see how it is fair of you to call the line incomplete when it just released its first offering. As for the chances that it will remain incomplete, isn't this true for any range of miniatures until it isn't?"

Imma jut in here a little Eli…
If you buy a book, finding out that it's the first in a four part series and the rest of the series hasn't been written yet, is it, or is it not an incomplete series? It's the same damned idea here. Quit arguing semantics. The new marines aren't lacking, but they are incomplete and I agree about the possibility that they'll remain so if we don't pipe up and ask for more! That's why I'm planning to buy three squads of them myself.

Though, I'm not sure how I feel about the flamer in the pack. I hope he's at least got a rifle molded to him somewhere, otherwise I'd like to see him put in a separate support pack and replaced with another rifleman.

Making my post more appropriate to the thread as well, another suggestion. I'm hopping up on that bandwagon that wants to see more dropships and light armoured vehicles.
Oh, and more aliens. Can never have enough Xenos, ever.

@Wolfprophet – It was a somantics arguement to be sure.

The miniatures industry is what it is and it works in a specific way. So, wishing and hoping that somebody with a fat bank roll and a ton of money to lose we are going to have to learn to play by those rules.

Mmmm….. with regards the Khurasan Exterminators: TMP link Colonial Marines 'proxies'

I think in this instance they are a complete entity in themselves. In one pack we have 4 different rifles, 2 different SAW, Leader, Flamer, Tech. They have enough character and different weapons/specialisations to provide an interesting and colourful bug hunting game in 15mm.

The Exterminators fit perfectly within the Federal Army universe. You want guys to go ratting down bug holes or clear infested facilities you call on these guys – you want to fight a stand up battle – call on the Federal Infantry.

And anyway, their boss, "Thirty eight. Simulated", is in the APC.

Cheers
Mark

I think we need more "character" minis… I want more heroes and RP PC options!
