Stunning! Great job on these guys
are there any pictures with unpainted exterminators? |
Eli Arndt | 18 Jul 2011 6:57 p.m. PST |
DUDE! Even when you are down you are on top of it! Jon, you are a serious force to be reconned with. If you and GZG Jon were ever to combine forced into Mega-Jon the 15mm world would likely explode. Seriously though, thanks for all your hard work and awesome products. My only regret is that I cannot give you more of my money. -Eli |

That's an excellent question kovnik -- the camo does tend to obscure the detail
like it's supposed to! Won't be able to for a few days but I'll try to ink some up and photograph as soon as there's a lull

Tgunner | 18 Jul 2011 8:13 p.m. PST |
Oh yes
I see my US Army troopers right here!!!!!! Close enough to match-up with my QRF Deep Space Marines, but just different enough to look like a different 'force'. Excellent Khurasan, just outstanding!! Please tell me that you have some with RPGs and Plasma cannons.. oh, and sentry guns too, we've gotta have sentry guns!!!!! |
McWong73 | 18 Jul 2011 8:19 p.m. PST |
Took the plunge, picked up some of these guys plus a mess of Space Demons
and some Federal Army guys
very hard to resist Khurusan, very hard. |
the trojan bunny | 18 Jul 2011 9:35 p.m. PST |
These minis are seriously making me think of selling off my current 15mm colonial marines (GZG NAC). Or maybe repainting them as something else. I want these!!! |
the trojan bunny | 18 Jul 2011 9:36 p.m. PST |
Also, will there be additional packs in the future for these guys, or is it a one off release? |
Gunner Dunbar | 19 Jul 2011 1:56 a.m. PST |
"very hard to resist Khurusan, very hard." Um no McWong, its not hard to resist, its impossible, I will be getting plenty of these bad boys, top job Jon. |

Why toss the GZGs Trojan Bunny? If your figures aren't painted up yet then just paint them a different color scheme and there you go- an OPFOR to toss your Exterminators against. Think outside the "bug" my friend!!! |

Wow Jon, you just keep out-doing yourself. Please keep going with the great miniature ideas. I gotta finish up my 15mm WW2 project, so I can do some serious work on 15mm SciFi! |
Eli Arndt | 19 Jul 2011 6:52 a.m. PST |
We need one reading a motion tracker, a pilot, a medic and a commtech with his kit out. Also a nice officer to flub everything up. Heck while you're at it, why not give us a Not-Ripley figure? she could come as a pack of her own – pilot/crew member and gun-toting badass poses along with a cat and cat crate. :) Alright, wish list rant over! MONEY WHERE MOUTH IS ACTIVATED! Ordered two squads. -Eli |
khurasanminiatures | 19 Jul 2011 7:05 a.m. PST |
One of them is reading a motion tracker. I told the sculptor to make one with a medical kit, but he didn't do it and I didn't notice the omission until the models were stateside. These cost a thousand dollars to have made, so I will need to get a sense how they are received rather than just doubling down on the risk. So far people seem very enthusiastic about them but it will be at least a few weeks before I have a clue as to whether I can make more models. One thing that is being made for them, being designed right now in fact, is their transport
. |
Eli Arndt | 19 Jul 2011 7:11 a.m. PST |
Jon, Don't take my frothing appreciation as a lack of understanding for the effort and expense involved in their release. Quality miniatures take time and money, that is a fact. I am content to be a queaky wheel and idea mill who occasional makes enough waves to elicit a bit of change or inspiration. I am sure these will be some of your more well-received miniatures. The market has always been hungry for Aliens inspired miniatures and these are certainly new, shiney and under a brand name that means quality. -Eli |
khurasanminiatures | 19 Jul 2011 7:17 a.m. PST |
I just wanted to explain why I can't commit right now to make more stuff, because people are making suggestions. I won't know for a while if I can swing it. The felids are big sellers so I had more made, and more is in the pipeline for them too as they just continue to sell. But I have things I released years ago which still haven't earned out so I won't be making any more of them. Nothing succeeds like success. |
Tgunner | 19 Jul 2011 7:22 a.m. PST |
Eli is spot on. What makes this line exciting, to me, is that you're doing them and you have a great reputation with me. I have your minis are they are excellent! Normally I purchase just a few minis from a company to check the quality before I bulk order. On Friday I'm ordering 4, or more, packs so I can start building my US Army company to go with my Colonial Marines from QRF. Once I get that lot painted up I'll probably order another similar set to become my Colonial Marines and my current lot from QRF will probably take over the Army National Guard slot. Anyway, can't wait to see them. I know that they'll do very well for you and that you'll want to expand their selection to include other sculpts (heavy weapons please!!). As for vehicles, I can't wait to see the APC! If it rocks, like I know it will, you'll probably want to put out a drop ship for it too!!!!!! |

artmaster studio painted all of them except "Piñata" Diaz, one of the SAW gunners, who was painted by Jennifer Haley. She's called piñata because she's unlucky and the bugs she blows away often crash into her as they die. |

Oh yeah, it's a sweet looking ride! And it does look better than the original! Every time I see the M577, well at least since I've read about what it actually WAS!, I keep wanting to hook it up to a Boeing 747 and taxi it down a flight line
But this, it feels more like an APC but it stays true to the overall design form of the M577. Very nice indeed Khurasan!! |
Tgunner | 20 Jul 2011 3:57 a.m. PST |
@ the trojan bunny: "That's the problem, I already painted them as colonial marines!" Well, you can do what I'm going to do with my current batch of Marines- promote them to the Army! In the background that I'm playing the Army eventually shows up to do the serious lifting work while the National Guard was on-site the whole time fighting off Liberty's army and irregulars. The same paint job shows that they are part of the same national military but different gear shows them to be in different services. What figures are you using? GZG's NAC Marines? If so then they have a more 'advanced' tech look and feel to them. Since the Army always gets the better budget and gadgets first then this could work. Or they could be an allied military using similar uniforms? Maybe British? French? Painted minis are painted minis and are priceless to the painter. A little imagination can produce new fluff to support them and keep them on your gaming table. |

Are they going to fight Space Demons, too?!?! That would be kind of cool, but I'd imagine it would be pretty bloody. |
khurasanminiatures | 20 Jul 2011 5:56 a.m. PST |
glenkk, I am waiting for the infantry command which have to be redone because all the various standards offered (and there are a lot of them!) were sculpted too fine and had to be remade. Also for the time being I had to scale back on order fulfillment so had to take a lot of my ranges down. All will be back in the fall, and then some! |
TylerD | 20 Jul 2011 11:50 a.m. PST |
Excellent! Expect an order from me at the weekend ;) +1 on the sentry guns! |
