I'm considering ordering some figs off trollandtoad.com; has anyone had recent dealings with them? A search of the message boards shows the only recent posting were 2008, and those about 50/50 good/bad on dealing with them? Have they improved in the last three years?

Thanks,

TheGhost

I had a terrible transaction with them about six months ago and have vowed to never deal with them again. That is about as blunt as I can put it.

I ordered a book that was supposed to be in VF condition. It was beat to hell. I wanted the book I purchased but they wouldn't send it to me. I did get a refund, but I wanted the book in VF condition. I began to wonder if they even had the book I wanted, or if it was just a bait and switch tactic.

Buyer beware.

Their shipping is IMO very expensive – I ordered $15 USD worth of Mechwarrior figs and they charged $10 USD in shipping to a US address. That was last year. Not worth it and I won't order from them again.

I second the expansive postage and no combined shipping. Never again

I have bought bunches of used books from Noble Knight and have always gotten great service.

I bought some clix from them – I didn't find the postage to the UK bad at all, it was still cheaper than buying them here and they arrived in about a week.

I've purchased from them on multiple occasions, from their online store and their eBay shop. Never had a problem that couldn't be resolved and they did combined shipping for me. I once received a broken Star Wars collectible miniature. I asked for a replacement, but they said they couldn't do that, but they did give me a refund. I didn't find their shipping outrageous, but then I always ordered multiple things, so shipping was probably more reasonable due to the multiple items. Now their response to emails and questions via eBay is very slow. It took about three weeks before I finaly got my refund.

I have always had good service from them, no complaints.

If you think that's crazy, you should see what they are charging for 2nd ed. Formula D tracks… Pushing a C-Note…

Yea. Shipping is a bear. Its better if you can buy from their eBay shop. Shipping seems to be cheaper then. Dunno why that is though…

I purchased from them earlier this year, something I promised I wouldn't do no matter what, through eBay, but had no problems, and the shipping worked out okay.

A few years back, I attended a Trade Day at GenCon (I'm a store owner), and some of the things suggested, for instance 'making up the difference in shipping', at the discussion they co-chaired made me question their ethical framework.

Definitely YMMV.

I just got burned on postage by T&T with e-bay. Charged me $15 USD for $3 USD of really cost. I will never buy from them again.

I find most of their prices are not competitive. That having been said they occassionally have specials, including buy it now, on EBay that are more then reasonable. Appear to be overstocks. I have purchased several issues of World at War magazine complete with game, in mint condition, at very good prices.

I would think their prices alone would dissuade anyone from doing business with them.
