I find this era interesting along with the 1930s
the transition from prop to jet mirroring the unusual designs of biplane to monoplane
This can include "what ifs" DH. Vampire link The twin-boom jet (and it's progeny, the Venom series) always fascinate me. Ho. 229 link Flying wing ftw! F9F Panther link Reminds me of the P-80 but somehow seems a little 'cooler' Hawker Sea Fury
My favourite prop fighter. MiG-9 link More menacing than the MiG-15. Do-335 The push-pull design and brutish looks link J-7 Shinden Pusher prop, jet-like looks link DH103. Hornet link Super-mosquito, sexier looks Flying Pancake link Prop VTOL Honourable mentions: Skyraider, La-11, Yak-15 (prop-to-jet conversion) What are your favourites? I love discovering new and interesting aircraft types

for a what if, the Convair XFY Pogo was just plain wierd – in a good way. Of the early planes that actually flew, the F9F Panther has been a favorite of mine. And the A3D/B-66 had an interesting service life, just not as the it was first intended as the A3D bomber. |

P2--saw one land at Ramey in PR in the 50s. But for all time fav prop/jet, gotta be the B-36: "six turnin', four burnin'." |

Not really a jet, but the Me-163 Komet is a fine specimen of a rocket fighter. |

I always liked the Cutlass for some reason. Probably because it was one of the very first models I ever built. Always liked the B58 and Valkyrie also. |

I always liked the Sud-Est Baroudeur, but perhaps that means I'm off my trolley. All the best, John. |

Another vote for the Panther. I-94 had some nicely painted, individually lettered 1/300 gloss blue Panthers at Origins. I was very tempted but I left them for some other lucky gamer. |

I'm with Dom. The MB.5 is my favourite. Honouable mention for the CAC CA-15. |

I'd have to suggest the Avro Arrow and Fairey Delta 2 as 'what ifs'
both fine looking aircraft that never made it into full production

Heinkel 1078B (never made it beyond the drawing board i believe) & Ho229. Vought F-7 Cutlass. Tu28/128, M-50 Bounder & B58 Hustler. Got to love those BIG jets! I'd love to see them all in 1:600 (i've got some Ho-229's from Raiden)I'd like to play Tu28's versus Hustlers very much. With some escorts naturally. |
