I recently ordered some steam tanks and wagons from Ironclad Miniatures. They arrived in a reasonable amount of time. That was good service.
I did not get around to opening the package until June 26th. It was then that I discovered that one of the steam tanks was missing it metal bits. I immediately e-mailed John Lowen about the missing parts.
He answered the next day, June 27th, and said the missing parts were on their way.
They arrived today, July 1st.
Now that, by God, is what I call most excellent service. I am a very happy customer and will sending John more business in the future.

I discovered Ironclad Miniatures at Phalanx. They have some nice Victorian era figures, and I gave in to temptation and bought some although the single character figures were rather expensive at £3.00 GBP each. If they'd been a bit cheaper I'd have definitely bought quite a few of them.

I recently bought an Ironclad steamtank. It has been cleaned, and primed, and even sprayed with its base coat of gray, but it languishes at that point.

Its a nice model, though. Nice casting, no bubble issues.

Must admit to being a fan of Ironclad from the start and have quite a few of the Steam Tanks,Johns been great in the past particully when I was after a few odd bits for the spares box such as wheels, turrets boiler bits and some seperate Gatling guns-still need to pick up a couple more of the latest Tanks will put an order in on Monday.

Sigh… this makes me want to buy some more WW1 trenches. I really like their stuff. Got a steam tank a few years back but it is still in the box. My VSF has languished a bit…

Noticed something very interesting at Historicon.

My tank is missing its turret! Contacted Ironclad, got a reply next day that they would send one along immediately. has not arrived yet, but I expect it in the next few days.

I discovered Ironclad just before Phalanx and ordered some of their infantry, then at Phalanx bought some more from their stall. I also bought three of their steam tanks, only to discover that they didn't have them with them but promised to send them to me post free when they got back on Monday.

It took three weeks and several emails before I saw those tanks. They're beautiful models and very good value, but I was left in the lurch for longer than was comfortable and didn't exactly get a warm and fuzzy feeling from John's customer service. It makes me reluctant to put any more business Ironclad's way, no matter how nice the models are.

I'm still waiting on a couple of tanks I ordered on the 4th must admit to getting a bit worried as to when (if?) they will turn up.

I am still waiting on replacement turret. John has offered a second one in case first was lost in customs or somesuch.

J Womack 9408 Aug 2011 3:21 p.m. PST

Followup: Received the second replacement turret today. No idea what happened to the first one sent. Oh well, I can finish the tank now, so I am happy.

My followup in the spirit of fair play – I send Ironclad an order for six packs of infantry, and this time got them within a week, no muss no fuss.

I guess my previous dealings with them came at a bad time or something.

Got my two tanks yesterday 08/08/11 after dropping John an e-mail last week.

I have a feeling the real problem is the vagaries of international post. Ahh, the customs agent: sworn enemy of all gamers.

I love the products but it seems order turn around varys. Its been weeks since my order now.

Their auto responce page says it still hasn't been produced but the funds have been taken :(Its starting to hold up projects. This isn't the first time either and that was a very small order :(

I can understand busy periods around shows but the service could be better.
