I got the proper camera out, and took two work in progress pictures of the samples I've received from Marcin at Oddzial Osmy of his forthcoming 15mm SF range. I still have to tart up the bases with some foliage and rocks. Enjoy.

The size will play merry hell with the board width. :-)

Ian

PS. Those thick bases are so I can put numbers on them for the display case

ThorLongus01 Jul 2011 3:16 a.m. PST

cloudcaptain01 Jul 2011 5:19 a.m. PST

Like the helmets…might make for good scifi Chinese.

Martian Root Canal01 Jul 2011 5:24 a.m. PST

The embedded journalist is a must have. Very nice figures.

Gunner Dunbar01 Jul 2011 7:58 a.m. PST

Bravo on the SAW figures, and the journalist.

PS. I rather like the thick bases too!

ethasgonehome01 Jul 2011 12:29 p.m. PST

The bases are 20mm round bases from eM-4 – I hold stocks :-) – finished with sandy-brown Brushscape (407) from Coat' d'arms to level with the figure base, and dry-brushed an assortment of caramels, pale yellows and off-whites from my paint collection. A wash of some sorts also crept in. I then ran matt black acrylic round the outside to tidy them up.

I deliberately didn't do more at this stage so I could photograph them without bits of flock and talus dust interfering with the photographs. and because I thought you'd all appreciate more pictures of the range, even at a rough and ready stage of their life.

Stealth100001 Jul 2011 12:58 p.m. PST

They are brill. Must have some.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP01 Jul 2011 3:54 p.m. PST

If I have only one "observation", all the Lads in the lower pic look like they are posted on a rooftop raining hell down on some other folks heads. Like I said, just an "observation"…

;-)

rvandusen01 Jul 2011 5:07 p.m. PST

I think those are awesome! East Bloc troops for Tomorrow's War

Gunner Dunbar01 Jul 2011 5:36 p.m. PST

I agree with rvandusen, I originally thought Aliens, but I think their better futuristic Russian, they are awesome.

Dropship Horizon02 Jul 2011 3:22 a.m. PST

Which is exactly why I prefer the guys in the lower photo.

Cheers

"Which is exactly why I prefer the guys in the lower photo"

I'll tell you what. If he has a complimentary pack with riflemen pointed/covering sky/roofwards then he his a marketing genius who will take many of my duckets.

SpaceJacker02 Jul 2011 8:46 a.m. PST

Cool minis, and a nicely different look to other ranges. Certainly perfect for Tom-war enthusiasts.

marcin250102 Jul 2011 2:27 p.m. PST

They were not supposed to be Russians, but I like idea ;)

These look great! I'm curious to what the packaging and pricing will be.

Thanks,

Splod8904 Jul 2011 5:32 p.m. PST

They'll do nicely for ESU Naval Infantry for those playing in the GZG-Verse :)

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP04 Jul 2011 8:59 p.m. PST

Now we just need a gasmasked version Marcin ;-)

(along with the guys covering the roofs!)

Rothgar05 Jul 2011 12:37 p.m. PST

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more shooting poses, but those look great!

Lentulus05 Jul 2011 4:57 p.m. PST

Reporter is certainly a must have – hope a cameraman is in the works.

Splod8905 Jul 2011 10:03 p.m. PST

Meh… Someone else can have my reporter. Swap you for the drone controller? :P
Now if only they were 20mm /Sigh

marcin250107 Jul 2011 2:46 a.m. PST

Lentulus- there is cameraman ready ;)

Lentulus08 Jul 2011 2:52 p.m. PST

Perfect. Great fun can be hard with operations-short-of-war when both sides get to manipulate the camera team to show the other guys off as villains.

One of the good things about SF is that you can do both-sides-are-grey games without kicking anybody's politics.

Umpapa09 Jul 2011 2:37 a.m. PST

Splod89: there will be also drone controller. :)

Splod8909 Jul 2011 11:11 p.m. PST

Oh awesome :)
By drone controller I was just thinking of the bloke with the laptop though. What's he meant to be then? An EW specialist?

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP10 Jul 2011 4:40 a.m. PST

He's the unit accountant.

Rhysius Cambrensis10 Jul 2011 12:34 p.m. PST

Love them and i need them! Especially the reporter dude!

Gorgeous… At first they looked very ESU but now I'm getting a Colonial Marine vibe… Reckon I'll stick with ESU though, teach those NSL Bastards for encroaching on my space.
Definitely picking some of these puppies up. Any idea on a release date?

AVAMANGO27 Jul 2011 2:02 p.m. PST

These are good looking troops i can see them also being Russian (ESU) or perhaps a Polish contingent as i think their uniforms inparticular their helmets have a very eastern European look to them, and as a bonus their is ample troop choice in this range to fill out and complete a large near future force, i would also appreciate some more information on this range such as a proposed release date and reference order codes.
Note: These troopers would compliment Khurasan Miniatures Eagle (Lightning) MBT and their Yozhik (Hedgehog) Heavy APC.

AWuuuu27 Jul 2011 3:11 p.m. PST

IIRC Marcin mentioned september as release date, but that was some time ago..

khurasanminiatures27 Jul 2011 5:33 p.m. PST

Actually Avamango the Nova Respublik infantry are being made as we speak! They will also compliment the yozhik and red banner. grin

Splod8927 Jul 2011 6:31 p.m. PST

Pics or it didn't happen ;)

Any idea yet where and when we can pick these suckers up?

combat wombat27 Jul 2011 7:03 p.m. PST

I love these guys.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP27 Jul 2011 9:16 p.m. PST

Im with Avamango, Poles all the way! Btw…will there be a sniper?

AVAMANGO27 Jul 2011 9:45 p.m. PST

Polish Planetary Assault Force or PPAF for short. ;) Its good hear about these new Nova Respublik infantry from Khurasan Miniatures im very much looking forward to seeing them and no dought parting with some more of my hard earned cash…

marcin250128 Jul 2011 2:09 a.m. PST

They could be Polish as well – we didn't choose commercial name yet ;)
Release date is still September if nothing wrong happen.
No snipers right now, but I will make them for sure.

I saw them at Devises totally awesome with an original feel to them.
I think they may replace my Pan Asian Confederation project as the new contingant for my coalition forces. Working on a pre-production exercise for vehicles and potential TOE.

Keep up the good work Marcin

For me they will be the "Polish Rapid Defense Force" for use against their revitalized "Nova Respublik" (aka Russian) neighbors who have territorial ambitions.

Marcin, glad to hear about the snipers! Also glad to hear about a September release date, since my wife's birthday is in August there will be no conflicts ;-)

Lion in the Stars28 Jul 2011 8:53 a.m. PST

*Very* cool… The Embed crew is likely to see more gaming time than anyone else in the whole pack, but I like them ALL!

Splod8902 Sep 2011 9:14 p.m. PST

So dredging this up from the darkness of a few pages back…
Anyone know how far off these are, and where will we be able to buy them from?
