Don't ask me why, but I NEED it, were can I get one, I'm sure you can own a few of these in texas. |

A better question is not 'Why?', but 'Who doesn't?' |

Even better question: what the hell are you going to mount it on? A GAU-8 doesn't mount on the back of your pickup. Got a disused M-60 laying around? |

Got a disused M-60 laying around? Hmmm

I have 2 suggestions. 1] S&S Models does the 7.62 minigun in 76th scale. 2] The old ESCI/ERTL Vulcan track witht the 1/72nd 20mm Vulcan. Failing those, you might try looking into the Squadron Catalog or other equivalent for the gun barrels and working from there. |

I remember the big furor when I was in college when the pilot of an Texas NG F4 (yes it was a long time ago) accidently pickled a GAU from the wing pylon. Everyone assumed some south Texas cowboy mounted it on his pickup to go hunting. "Watch this, guys" |

Grand Duke Natokina: Minigun? Vulcan? Peashooters! The 1/48 Hobbyboss A-10A has a separate GAU-8. It's a mini-kit in itself, and should look good on a 28mm mini:
$35 USD bucks or so, so if you want two of them, ouch! Make sure you get the 1/48 kit, because the 1/72 HB A-10A does not include a separate GAU-8. I'm surprised that no one has released a separate resin upgrade kit of the GAU-8, but if someone has, I haven't seen it. |

Is there ant reason they don't mount these on the M1 chasi, what an air defence gun as well as the ultimate street sweeper. |

Got a disused M-60 laying around? There is evidently a lost tank on the side of the highway somewhere around there: TMP link |

Maybe not a GAU-8, but Heavy Gear has some in their weapon packs depending on the scale you are looking for. link |

JPattern, I didn't know of the 1/48 scale GAU. Excellent. I really don't do much with airplanes anymore. Infantry, Armor, and Arty. Otherwise I make like a real government and overspend my military budget. |

The Trumpeter 1/32 A10 kits also have a separate GAU8, but those are $100! IIRC, the GAU-8 is literally a motor-driven gatling gun (as in, uses the old gatling patents scaled up to 30mm), so it might actually be legal for sillyvilian ownership. Gatling guns following the original designs are not 'machine guns' per BATFE, so you can buy a new-build replica Gatling in .45-70 for about $45,000. I know the GE miniguns *are* considered NFA items, and most are NOT even legal then, since they were made after 1986. |
