Yesterday I got along to a 28mm DBA day at the Auckland Wargames Club. It had a loose campaign structure and ended in a BBDBA battle: link |

Nice to see 28mm DBA – more's the pity here in Canberra it's all 15mm. Hence my move across to WAB, CoE and Hail Caesar. Good AAR's, thanks Mark. |

Actually, I've only got 15mm armies, but most of the other gamers here play bigger games with 28mm. I'm happy to play any scale if someone will provide the armies. |

I have a whole bunch of Ancient Greeks plus Saxons and Vikings in 28mm I intend to paint up for DBA. The trick for me will be basing them so I can use them for individual skirmish plus DBA. |

That is a trick. I was thinking how I'd do that for some HOTT figures, but haven't thought how. |

Rare earth magnets inlaid into the bases over sheet metal under bases cut to size might work. |

Excuse me, Mark and Doug; how far do you guys travel for a war game, usually? |
Mark Davies | 22 Jun 2011 11:25 a.m. PST |
About 20 minutes to the local club. |

I travelled 3000km though, which was a bit of a hike, but it was worth it. My take on the day is here

Wow, Australia to New Zealand that's a fair distance, very nice battle reports. The farthest I've traveled for one game was a little over 200 miles. |
