Playing GW games seems more like an addiction than wargaming. My son was into it but I have brought nothing new in years – last thing was a box of Black Orcs a couple of years ago. Almost everything I have from GW is second hand. |

I heard about this phenomenon a few days ago, and on Saturday I can tell you it was pretty blinking hot in Eastbourne (sunniest place in the UK, apparently). Anyway, they'd had some of the new Finecast models in a window, in a glass cabinet all day in the GW store here. We decided to have a look at them, opened the cabinet and it was like an oven in there. None of the figures seemed changed to be perfectly honest- warmed certainly, but not disfigured at all. So I'm thinking this story was exagerated. Don't get me started on the miscasts though

Recall that the story of the melty Gandalf also mentions an unaffected Space Marine. Heft vs supported weight is going to be a very important factor. Melty or not, however, the pricetags on the handful of Finecast minis that showed up at the FLGS were enough to convince me that my days of buying GW new were basically over. |

I suppose self-destructing minis also helps to deflate the 2nd hand market. |

Stops it from inflating further, anyway. There is already almost 25 years of 40k minis floating around. Heck, I bought a pile of original beakies just a few weeks ago. |

Interesting that the original blog post has been taken down, with comments that the Finecast terminator sitting right next to the victim gandalf was fine, and that GW very nicely replaced the mini in question. The blogger now thinks that he managed to get a bad casting (which happens to anyone). |

Manflesh.. well, as someone who has lived in Oz and the Uk (in the sunniest city in the UK) this is very different
you don't have 42 (Celsius) degree days, which raise the temperature in closed spaces/cabinets to 60+ Never mind the temperature in the boot of my black car.. |

"Cry havoc and let slip the blobs of war
" LOL!!! This is especially appropriate to any "GW Finemelt" Chaos hound units left in the sun too long
