I am looking for a 30's/40's Pulp/US Air Corps-ish pilot figure, similar to the Jake from tales from the golden monkey pic below, that will size well with Artizan and Pulp minis;

ie a Handsome heroic pilot wearing a cool A2 style flight jacket, chinos and a crusher style cap.
Holding or wearing a pistol would be a plus.

Unfortunately, most pilots I've found seem to be in flying caps and trench coats.

This one by artizan is close,

but just doesn't do it for me.
It's the head, I could do a head swap but would prefer not to.

The Buzz Iland Hoppers by Pulp is close, but…;

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Reaper has exactly what your looking for in the Chronoscope line.

I own two of them. I did one as Indiana Jones and the other as a WW2 pilot in Khakis with a crusher cap. It comes with multiple heads and arms. My pilot is firing two revolvers.

Darkson Designs has an excellent one in the AE-WWII line called The Buffalo Pilot. It's a Convention only piece, but they do allow it for internet sales during conventions they are attending. I'm sure it will be available along with the other con exclusives during Gen Con Indy (8/14-17) or email them to see if it will be available sooner.

Here is the figure CmdrKiley mentioned – nice, but if you are looking for that specific hat, he isn't wearing it. Cool figure, though.

Is it my imagination, or is that Reaper piece a rough-looking sculpt? One of his heads does fit what you are looking for, though.

Copplestone Castings makes a couple of pilot figures, but again, wrong head gear.

Thanks all.

That Buffalo Pilot is nice and if I can pick him up for a reasonable price I might just find a use for him, though not for this project.

mweaver, I agree the reaper one looks a tad rough. I have a ton of reaper minis and really like their new Chronoscope line. This mini may paint up better than sculpt looks like. Anyone got a pic of this guy painted up?

The mini is a lot cleaner. Let me take a pic of mine and I'll post it.

Ugh, I don't realize how bad of a painter I am until I take a close-up….

I hope they help.

Scott, Thanks for the pic and there is nothing wrong with your painting.

I'll have to pick that mini up when I can.

Pulp Figures (pulpfigures.com) has Buzz Barker's Island Raiders with several cool pilot figures with balaclava type flight helments with or without pistols in hand, or Crash Conner's Gyro Raiders with a couple of cool flyboy types. 28mm.

I see you covered that one. I picked up a pilot in a crushed hat and leather flying jacket and flying boots holding a pistol from Brigade Games I think. I used him in a scenario with a downed Stuka. He had an officer with him carrying a folder with the plans for a German east front offensive. The Russians were after them. The entire board was covered in patches of fog. NKVD were after a commissar leading a squad out in the fog; they didn't trust him. I painted a fuhrer mustache on the pilot. Quite the dude.

Matsuru, Thanks. I though I had searched Brigade and came up empty handed, but I must have missed that figure. Do you have any pics of your painted Dude, or pics from that swell sounding game? I would love to see an AAR on that game.
