I guess this is the best place for this question. I bought the new 15mm Panzer IV's from the PSC yesterday at Triples. I'm building them as Ausf H. But there is a piece that is confusing me, as to where it goes. It's the bit marked in Green on the diagram to the left of the commander (in green). It looks like an air filter or some such, any ideas? My Osprey on Pz IVs has been no use! Here's a link to the instructions I swiped from a blog!: picture |

I has the same question about both that bit and the long rectangular bit that is in grey in the same part of the sprue. The response I got from PSC (which considering they are still at the show I was impressed to get today) was: "The long thin thing is a tool box and can be fixed on the side (on the right preferably) The other thing is an exhaust thingy for the G and H versions which glues on the left side on the hull just below the turret Hope this helps Best regards Will" I have been trying to find pictures to see where it should go but have not managed to find one yet. |

Maybe it goes where the dual wheel holder goes on the F2/G version? |

It is an air filter IIRC. Here is a photo of a model with it attached: link Damon. |

It's not the tank commander's legs if you want him posed 3/4 of the way out of the turret? |

it is called a "filzbalgfilter". it was introduced on the G from 5/43 and discontinued on the H 2/44. it was a carburetor air pre-cleaner. it belongs on the RIGHT side, as shown in the links above. |
