Spacelords: Yoyodine; Cybertech; and Phagons. Still my favorite SF figures though I have moved to 6mm for most things now. |

The first plastic beaky space marines with Rogue Trader shrink wrapped together, I believe you got 20 figures or 40 figures with the book. I've got 20 of them painted up and serving in my Astral Claws Legion. |

We never used miniatures with Traveler, so first army would be two boxes of plastic beaked space marines around 1988 used with Rogue Trader, painted white as my own SM chapter- The White Rogues. |

We bought the Rouge Trader book before the plastic Marines were even available. Then it was off to build a Plastic Beaky Marine army and later an Eldar Army. Seems like eons ago . . . . . I still have lots of unpainted metal Eldar from the RT era. Lots of old memories. Jeff |

My 1st venture into SF miniatures was with the original box set of plastic Space Marines, Painted with massively thinned down paint I got from the ship's paint locker (2256 Haze Gray) and detailed with testor's enamels. I had just finished a soviet armored Division and needed a break from modern armored and navel gaming. |

Starship Troopers, bought them on fire sale at Origins a few years ago. Have played many times and love it. Used to be just a historicals snob, but now I'm going to add Hammers Slammers

For me it was my Imperial Cold Weather Assault Squad for Dirtside. I purchased a couple of the old AMT Battle of Hoth Action Scene plastic sets and painted up two AT-ATs, two AT-STs, and several squads of Stormtroopers. They were a pretty fun bunch to play (plenty of HELs), at least until the "Boom" counters started turning up

My 6mm Army started in 1988
at first mostly Battletech, re-purposed GHQ and some other modern AFV mini manufactuer whose name has long been forgotten. I also had a few SF tanks by some unknown manufactuer. Later Renegade Legion grav tanks joined my army. All remains the base of my always growing army

In 1978, a great many Heritage Star Trek figures; Federation Marines, Klingons, Gorns, Kzinti etc., then some Minifig Sci-fi troops added to that

Minifigs Earthmen and Minifigs Robotics. Just painted them at first and gaed at them. Then played Encounter 2 – the game of boarding rebel starships with ruthlessly efficient troopers. Wonder where they got that idea from. Happy Days – have to dig them out again sometime. |

SST, but it turned into a bit of a dead end when I realised I didn't like the rules or the MI models. I'm now re-building around the bug models, which I do like, with Hydra's Gallacteers as the good guys. |

Starship Troopers Arachnids back when they were new. But they first saw use as fantasy monsters in games of Reaper's Dark Heaven. It wasn't until last August that they finally saw action as being what they are and were made for. |

Beakie Marines for Rogue Trader are the first step on the path to too many armies, too many figures and not enough time

I don't remember if it was Beakies in the box of 30 (sold to a guy building an RT-only army), or if it was that box of 50 Grenadier 'Space Rangers' that was first (still around, somewhere). May have been that starter box of Legions of Steel, which grew into about a platoon of UNE Commandos. Definitely wasn't the new-at-the-time metal Space Marine Scouts in '95 or '96. I still have 45 or so of them! |

A handful of 15mm infantry bought out of a shoe-box at the first Historicon. I have no idea who made them; the guy I bought them from didn't either. I used them to help playtest Princess Ryan's Space Marines. LT |

Starguard,Dreenoi, Ralnai and Amerons. Not tons of any, and I didn't know enough to make anything like real formations, but had a bunch of each. Still have a bunch of ralnai. :) |
