I not too long ago made an order from New Wave and shortly after was being advised by friends and even family who game that that was a mistake. Out of a total of $30 less than half of the order came in, and the other half was said to be on back order. After a couple months of trying to contact the company I have just about given up. Has anybody ran into this kind of crap with them, or is this just a once in blue moon fluke that happened? Not that I dont listen to friends and family, the sources of those opinions are for all fairness a little biased. So, I would like to from someone else what experiences they've with this company. |

Welcome to the "I've been ripped off by New Wave club" |

Thats the EXACT scenario thats happened to almost everyone. I solved it by calling repeatedly and giving them an alternate order of what they verified in stock. |

new wave is the most notorious miniatures dealer on the web, its a shame anyone still orders from them even bigger shame they're still in business and continue to actively rip people off. |

Thanks for the invite, I feel so warm and fuzzy inside. Or, maybe pissed off is what Im feeling. Anyway, not much I can do about the loss of $15. I checked out the past message boards on the subject. It really impresses me how someone with the obvious mentality as these people have, to stay in business. Isnt supposed to be a certain amount of BBB complaints before action is taken by the BBB? If so, I will gladly post my complaint to them. I also read somewhere in the past boards that someone wanted to know if they had a store front. I can tell that person that almost two years ago they did have one here in the north Atlanta area, and according to an aquaitance of mine who works for them, the store was closed because of employee theft. The warehouse in Forsyth county is the only place they have physically now. I appreciate the feedback as years ago I used to order lots of stuff from them and had (hold your breath) good customer service from them. If anybody has any advice on how to handle this let me know. Its too late to place a fraudulent charge to my bank account, so that option is out. Thanks again. |

The BBB can't really do anything to them. The Georgia State Attorney General on the other hand could do quite a lot with suitable complaints. |

Moonwolf, if you are in Atlanta PLEASE do us all a favor and file a complaint with the Attorney General directing to the scores of BBB complaints and those on this list. The Attorney General can start a lawsuit on behalf of all consumers who have been ripped off by New Wave. |

I do live in Atlanta and would gladly place my complaint to the Attorney General's office. Is there anyway you could post contact info or a url?

Direct contact with the county District Attorney using the link below ( has phone numbers ) might also be helpful for allegations against an Alpharetta business. link |

Please do so, if anything it might start some sort of class action that will seriously hurt New Wave. What I'm wondering is why hasn't the editor posted massive fraud stories of New Wave like he's done with various smaller instances. This site has a lot of pull in the minis community, and an article on it could really help, not to mention steer away newcomers from New Wave. |

I also filed a complaint with the Georgia BBB and but given NWMO's track record on resolving complaints,I am not anticipating any degree of satisfaction. My next move is the US postal service to see if their teeth are sharper than the BBB's. At this point I'm out $35. Not a huge sum but it's the principle of the thing. |

Many people have developed the idea that the BBB has some sort of punitive power that will get you your money back. Please realize that BBB has minimal power to induce a business to make good. They basically can maintain a list of complaints against a business and the resolution (if any) of the matters are also kept on their sites. They can also contact a retailer to let them know about issues and recommend that they fix it, but that's about the limit as I understand it. If a business is unable or unwilling to comply with BBB requests, all that happens is that their rating suffers. No fines. No legal action. No truly negative consequence other than bad press on the BBB sites. If a company doesn't care about its reputation, the BBB holds minimal effective power. |

Moon wolf, Here is the site for contacting the postmaster general and filing your mail fraud complaint: link Some people around here actually think Dave Doust is a pretty swell guy because he puts out Dark Age Games, but what he is doing here is illegal and needs to be reported. BTW any of you folks who need verification of the relationship between DA Games and Dave please feel free to talk to Jen Haley about it. |
