Does anyone know if these guys are out of business? There link is gone. Thanks John |

As far as I was aware they are gone. Not sure who owns the molds now. |

The bad news is that, yes, they are defunct. You actually have two bits of good news. The first is that JC McDaniel, the original sculptor, is doing updated versions and can be found here: jcfigures.com The second is that you may still find some at Victory Force |

Speaking of JC, has anyone heard from him lately? It's been nearly a year since his last project. |

Last update on his website is from January, so I don't know what's up. |

Not true Jeff Valent has them you need to send him a e-mail and you can get the figures that way. Last year I placed a big order with him for the Devil Dog figures and I now get the new figures from JC. |

Hey Irish, how long did it take JV to come through with the order? I need some, no, many, DDD Canadians. Hoser |

At the risk of hijacking the thread, does anyone know how the new JC figures USMC and insurgents size up vis a vis Empress and Eureka? I've been eyeing off the USMC figures but I seem to recall that his earlier DDD figures were quite large compared to other ranges. |

Hey Irish, how long did it take JV to come through with the order? That is usually the 64,000 question

JCFigures | 04 May 2011 7:01 a.m. PST |
Hi all, Yes I am still alive, and no I don't have anything to do with DDD or JV any longer. I'm trying to finish up my Masters Degree and I'm still in the Marines so life has been kinda busy lately. No real excuse for not updating the JCFigures website though
My miniatures business like most miniature companies that run on a shoestring or that are a one man operation is slow. I'm not quiting or going under, just not making enough money in order to make new miniatures. Shocking news
this business isn't cheap, especially with metal prices creeping higher and higher. Not to mention even without having to pay a sculptor, just having molds made is expensive. Stepping down from soapbox
Unfortunately my new figures do not match up well with Empress or any other standard 28mm figure. I really like Empress figures and own quite a few of them. I made the new Marines and terrorist larger on purpose. After my first company was hijacked out from underneath me, why would I make new figures to compliment the old ones that someone else would possibly benefit from? I really have no idea when I'll make more figures. Unless I win the lottery or business picks up I can imagine it'll be a while before anything new rolls out my door. Semper Fi, JC |

I love the detail on his new marines. |

Thanks for the answer JC. Oh well, pity, they look like nice sculpts. Good luck with the business and I hope things improve on that front. |
TJSpartan | 04 May 2011 3:22 p.m. PST |
As long as you don't mix JC's marines in the same "unit" with other 28mm minis they should look fine. I have got a mix of JC, empress, and eureka insurgents as opposing forces for my JC Marines. |

Thanks for your input I tried getting a hold of Jeff V but his site is down as well. I didn't see Jeff at Cold Wars this year but I was busy there. I checked Victory Force but didn't see them, maybe you have to contact them. I'll keep trying to see what I can find. Anyone order from D&P Minis which is a Italian company they have nice Modern as well. John |
