Just a general question (and yes, I have emailed them and am awaiting a reply), but how long does it usually take to get an order from them, from within the States? Placed my order for a few packs of Blue Moon FIW, eight days ago, and my order still shows as in process and not shipped. When I worked for Warweb in Dayton under the previous owner, we would send an email if items were on backorder, but I haven't received that yet. Just curious as to what your experiences with them have been. Hoping to hear back from them today about the status of my order!

C Anders J27 Apr 2011 5:03 a.m. PST

My experience is that they don't automatically inform you when the item you order is on backorder. They are reasonably quick about replying to questions, however. I had a similar situation ordering Blue Moon from them a month or two ago and it turned out the items were on backorder.

I order from them frequently, it generally takes 2-3 weeks for them to ship. On the plus side – they did not charge my CC TILL they shipped.

My orders were for Old Glory CD, and GHQ products.

Thanks, chaps. I just wanted to see how their service is compared to how it used to be. Guess I will be looking for my order in a couple of weeks!

I have had good and bad service through them. The standard time is two weeks, but twice last year the orders went well over four weeks on one and almost five on another.

Hazard27 Apr 2011 7:45 a.m. PST

I ordered from them three times and definitely two to three weeks seems to be the standard. I've always received my orders and they have always been accurate so I wouldn't be concerned that you won't get what you ordered.

helmet10127 Apr 2011 7:51 a.m. PST

ordered many times through, always happy, very reasonable shipping charges.
I get my GHQ from them not direct from the manufacturer, better service.

Cold Steel27 Apr 2011 9:13 a.m. PST

I have used them several times and the figures arrived faster than the shipping notice on the last one.

I had a lot of issues with them, to the point where I don't shop there anymore. YMMV.

Damon.

3-5 days for me, but everything was in stock

For me it has varied: anywhere from 2-3 weeks (fine with me) to 4-6 (still fine because it usually means they are waiting for re-stock); my only nit pick is that I have to call them in that case (to make sure). They have my email/phone number…; that said, I have never, ever had a problem with order's received.

We'll see, placed an order around six years ago and waited on it for around four months then had some difficulty canceling the order as well. Placed a new order on April 6th for some Vampire Wars minis and Blue Moon minis. See how they deal with this order or if they lose my business for another six years or so.

Shardik28 Apr 2011 3:15 a.m. PST

very reasonable shipping charges.

I assume you're in the US? Their charges to Australia are horrendous ($30 to ship 1 15mm Old Glory packet). I'd use them a lot more if the shipping charges were reasonable

Buckeye AKA Darryl28 Apr 2011 10:00 a.m. PST

Just an update…it's been two full days since I emailed them about the status of my order, no reply. I wish the previous owner had never sold because the current folks (based on my current experience and the comments above) are NOT doing his previous reputation justice.

So, here's another question…FRP Games carries the Blue Moon range, how is THEIR service?

TwoGunBob28 Apr 2011 7:31 p.m. PST

Yeah, I've got 24 hours with no reply. I figure in this day and age the 'call the company to enquire' is a bit 1985, you know? If in this modern period with people like Neal with the War Store getting packages to me almost BEFORE I order them I have to question a company doing business like it's still in the 80's. Probably give them another week then cancel the order and just take my business elsewhere where I can get a turn around and receive my order within 3-5 days. Hazarding that starting an order with a different company will probably still get my figures to me faster.

Did they change ownership? I'm in APAC as well and shipping was decent as of my last order (maybe 6 months ago). To be fair, all was good thus far for me.

Shardik29 Apr 2011 1:56 a.m. PST

my last order was 18 months ago. the shipping charge was $66 USD for 12 x 15mm packets

Buckeye AKA Darryl29 Apr 2011 5:01 a.m. PST

Helmet – They changed ownership a few years back. Seemingly that is also when their service slowed as well.

I've emailed them again, still do not have a reply to my first email. I am asking to cancel my order if the items are on backorder. At the very least they could have emailed me to let me know the status of the items. Let's see if they are responsive when losing a sale.

^^THIS x100!

I placed an order with them before Adepticon for some OG/QC stuff for a tournie. Went nearly a week with no word from the company. I eventually had to email them to find out it would be several weeks to receive the items! These being for a tournie, I couldn't wait that long. I ended up cancelling the order and ordering BF replacements thru TheWarStore which, while more expensive, got sent to me within 3 days.

I now have an order that again on backorder, AGAIN I only knew this by emailing them directly. I've responded asking if there's an actual DATE they will receive the backordered items (since it's been 2 weeks) and I haven't received a reply in 2 days.

In this day and age, even if this is a side business for the owner, there's NO ACCEPTABLE REASON to not let you customers know when an item is backordered. Heck, you can even write code to have your webstore send an automatic email out! But, I'm stuck, no one other than QC makes EW French AA guns, so I just have to wait!

MST3Klover29 Apr 2011 7:03 a.m. PST

They do tend to be slow, but you'll get your stuff eventually. One thing I have noticed is that they don't update your order status nor will they alert you when your order has shipped. This can be frustrating when things are on back order. However, when I've contacted them about the status of my order they usually respond very quickly. Personally, I think their website could do with a major overhaul.

Buckeye AKA Darryl29 Apr 2011 10:34 a.m. PST

After my second email (the one in which I mentioned cancelling my order) I got a response stating that one of the items was out of stock. Now, why did it take two emails to get that done I don't know. I told them to ship the other items and cancel the out of stock one. Now let's see how long it takes to receive my order.

Lesson learned, unless I cannot find an item anywhere else, I won't be ordering from Warweb again.

TwoGunBob04 May 2011 7:59 p.m. PST

Update, got an email 4-28 advising that the backorder was in and the order did arrive 5-2 so it was slightly less than a month turnaround. Not as bad as the last time I ordered from them but not winning any horse races in the miniature delivery department either. I'd mark my order experience as lukewarm, I guess.

Buckeye AKA Darryl05 May 2011 5:46 a.m. PST

Got my order (the portion they had in stock) yesterday. I agree with Two Gun, I am lukewarm in my feelings about the transaction. They should have notified me of any backorder issues and let me decide how to proceed. They should have replied to my first email asking about the status of my order.

I have found other places to buy more of the Blue Moon FIW figures, with comparable pricing, so I will probably not order from Warweb in the future. Tis a shame, they used to be tops in service, and right now, I would think that keeping service standards high would be every company's top priority.
