I made a Tom Baker using a Peter Pig old west in a duster. Then I used some tissue with white glue to make a scarf. It came out perfect. |

Awesome idea, oh Purple one

I tried to make a Tom Baker likeness using a GZG female civilian SG15-V2 pack (flatened bits, green stuff scarf and extended coat) picture |

Very nice. Stop tempting me to do the Who in 15mm. only issues= the Doctor (easy enough, it seems
), Daleks (Khurasans not-daleks are a bit too hoveresque for me), cybermen (probably some decent proxies out there, any non- skeletal robots
), a TARDIS (???), and Davros (???
but a must have!) Any ideas on these, gents? |
erraticassassin | 22 Apr 2011 1:54 p.m. PST |
I'm probably in a minority, but what about anyone who wants a Doctor other than #4..? And, if any 15mm manufacturers out there are taking notes, how about Weeping Angels while we're at it? I reckon GZG's Kra'Vak could be pressed into service as Sontarans, if that's any use. |
GeoffQRF | 22 Apr 2011 3:35 p.m. PST |
The BBC tend to be a little protective of their IP, so actual copies are likely to be rare. On the other hand Davros may be available: link |
Wolfprophet | 22 Apr 2011 10:07 p.m. PST |
Hmm. I saw some 15mm Daleks, but they were made specially for one fellow by his friend. :/ Maybe if you can find the link (I can't seem to.) you can go down the line and see if you can get the same person to cast some more up. |
Etranger | 24 Apr 2011 4:29 a.m. PST |
Peco have a 20mm Police box in their Merit model railway scenic range. Would do just as well for 15mm. |
billthecat | 26 Apr 2011 3:31 p.m. PST |
Thanks for that, Etranger. But I think the whole thing is probably too much trouble. It really is a matter of too many iconic creatures and the IP issue. Darn you BBC! (Strange bit on Davros, though
) And, oh, Tom Baker is the REAL Dr. Who
|

The BBC tend to be a little protective of their IP, so actual copies are likely to be rare. Aren't there at least three not-eleventh-Doctors and two not-Ponds in 28mm? |
Clogwyn The King | 08 May 2011 5:04 a.m. PST |
well
its not the doctor but it could be a time lord warrior easy, 15mm.co.uk/112.htm a warrior doctor? wait it could always be the next regeneration
he could look like, umm
whatever |
J Womack 94 | 01 Feb 2013 3:12 p.m. PST |
Necroposting, but yes, there are several 28mm Professors and such. I want 15. And either Three, Four, or Ten would work fine. Maybe a gangster for Ten? |
erraticassassin | 01 Feb 2013 3:26 p.m. PST |
I used one of Khurasan's scientists in a lab coat for the tenth doctor, and one of their zombie survivors for Donna Noble. |

Wild West seems like it should work, but good luck finding a figure without a cowboy hat. I suppose you could use one of those townsfolk figures and do a head-swap with a Zouave. ( "Fezzes are cool now." ) If not that, it's easy enough to find bare headed figures in any civilian line and do a head swap. The 11th doctor spent a good deal of time in a trench coat, so you could use any figure with a duster and do a head swap with a bareheaded figure. There's a pretty good proxy for the 12th doctor in Rebel Minis civilan pack ( rebelminis.com/15moci.html ) . You'll have to paint on a bow-tie, but that should be too hard. |
WarrenAbox | 01 Feb 2013 4:59 p.m. PST |
Oh, that modern civilian from Rebel would work find as the 10th Doctor without any changes. Just paint up his jacket as a leather coat and you're good to go. |
badger22 | 01 Feb 2013 5:00 p.m. PST |
Docters are not that hard to come by. Daleks on the other hand are seemingly nonexistant. I know one person who has some, a set of prototypes for a licensed game that did not go anywhere. And my modeling skills are not up to the task of scratchbuilding any of them. Owen |

Splintered light has some good proxie " not doctors" Really? Which did you have in mind? |
Flavin | 04 Feb 2013 9:37 a.m. PST |
Check out Shapeways. It will take quite a bit of sorting to find them, but I have recently seen a wide range of Daleks therein. |
Jimboba | 19 Aug 2014 9:37 a.m. PST |
Hunting myself at the moment and found this old thread. If anyone has found more possibles for Doctor's and foes please let me know. Better from Rebel Minis rebelminis.com/15cihupa2.html (pretty obvious which one I mean). Or, currently painting this guy as a characterful proxie. Better than some of the Doctors imho. I posted some Ood-alikes not long back: TMP link There are also some not-Sontarans and my stab at the 10th Doctor (15mm and 28mm) if you nose around my Flickr a bit (linked in that thread above). If memory serves, there's also a Dalek edition of Risk which has a selection of Daleks in roughly 15/20/25mm sizes. |
badger22 | 19 Aug 2014 5:19 p.m. PST |
The Risk set has something like 316 daleks in 3 sizes. I am waiting for a stateside release, the postage on the UK one was on on the order of 50% of a nnot cheap game. Owen |
