What OOP miniatures line do you most regret not getting more of?

For me it is the Stan Johansen Miniatures of the FGU SF figures – especially the Rauwoof and Blarads. Lesser regrets in that line are the Mekpurrs. Want the still available Klackons but cost per figure and storage of an army would be an issue.

Still, no more Balrads and Rauwoofs are my biggest regrets.

Third place would be the Grenadier Andromedans – walking mossmen. Ugly but cool and weird.

Your missed opportunities you regret?

Gracias,

Glenn

AD&D Battlesystem 15mm line by Ral-Partha
Star Wars 25mm line by West End Games.
Ral Parha AD&D Box Sets, especially Lord Soth's Charge.
Hobby Products 15mm Fantasy line.

Beowulf Fezian14 Apr 2011 5:31 a.m. PST

Citadel's Eternal champion line.
Hobbu Products Asterix line.
Ral Partha's Powers of Balance, Chaos and Law boxed sets.
Citadel's Dark Future.

Citadel Traveller 15mms, although they seem to be surviving in some way, shape or form.

The absolutely spectacular Citadel Call of Cthulhu 25mm range.

pphalen14 Apr 2011 5:49 a.m. PST

A second for the 15mm Battlesystem Miniatures.
Armourcast 40K Titans (particularly because I could have bought several of them at a HUGE discount when a local store was closing…)

Rudysnelson14 Apr 2011 5:50 a.m. PST

ADD Battlesystems and the Metal Magic Fantasy range are two that I get a lot of requests about.
The Tuesedo 30 years war range made in the USA.

Personally, I wish that I had gotten more of the Heritage/Empire Napoleonics, the Stone Mountain Pathans, Dervishes and Zulus when I carried those ranges.

GoneNow14 Apr 2011 6:02 a.m. PST

Most regret?
I wish I had a nice sized collection of Starship Trooper bugs to go with my over sized collection of Mobile Infantry. I know you can still find most of the main units out there if you look hard enough. But some of the more limited release bugs are starting to go for bigger dollar amounts then I can afford.

Otherwise original "beakie" plastic space marines.

Nick Lund's Chronicle line of Wolfriders, Uruks and Hobgoblins.

Von Trinkenessen14 Apr 2011 6:50 a.m. PST

15mm DLD vehicles especially Kamodo HFS and Kamodo IFV.

TBeyer14 Apr 2011 6:54 a.m. PST

I agree with Mr. Sexton – the Chronicle orcs and hobgoblins (including some done for Citadel like the oriental orcs and ogres) are still some of the best ever made. I also like the old Ral Partha sculpts by Tom Meier for their fantasy army line – elves, dwarves, and orcs/goblins/imps.

This Poll is going to be longer than 10 feet…

pphalen14 Apr 2011 7:03 a.m. PST

Does selling the OFM my first edition copy of Space Hulk count, or is that a different thread?

A third vote for Heritage/Empire 15mm Napoleonettes.

Though I've learned they may be available again. They have a presence on Facebook under "Empire Miniatures" (iirc).

BW195914 Apr 2011 7:29 a.m. PST

In addition to the 15mm Heritage/Empire Napoleonettes, I would like to add their 15mm Classics, & Confederattes.

Also Mikes Models 7YW range.

The non-completion of Heritage's beautiful 15mm ancients line after the death of the sculptor. He never got to the Hellenic and Hellenistic eras.

Sundance14 Apr 2011 7:48 a.m. PST

The old Traveller minis and the Asterix minis.

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP14 Apr 2011 8:02 a.m. PST

Heritage's Lord of the Rings figs based on the Bakshi movie.
Heritage's Star Trek and Galacta lines. More of Eureka's Planet of the Apes infantry. Heritage's Ancients. I have two complete armies, but more of each and having the rest of the range completed would have been great.
GW plastic Imperial Guard and Beakies. I have a decent amount of both. But more would be great.

Thanks,

John

Not a figure but a building: The Steve Barber tembe.

I'm too lazy/inept to build my own.

These link fellows. Trimotes available in 25mm when I got them but now only in 15mm which I'm having to call juveniles.

I second the FASA Star Trek ships. I just bought the RPG just as they lost the license and dropped the line.

Space Monkey14 Apr 2011 11:40 a.m. PST

I wish I'd bought more Epic Space Ork stuff when it was readily available.

Same with Rackham elves, drunes and undead… but I never really had the chance to buy them while they were on the shelves.

Also the Industial Gothic minis… though I did buy up what little I ever ran across.

Metal Magic Spacelords Sardaykin Legionaires.
Really cool figs and by far the hardest of the Spacelords to find today.

Enigma not-Space Marines.
I know they weren't the best looking figs ever, but the space marines with Adeptus arbite helmet look was pretty cool and they were dirt cheap in the early 90's. Why didn't I buy them?

Demonblade Shockforce Megacom Troopers.
However, it looks like I may have a second chance as Megaminis is slowly bringing them back into production. Also I got a few at the little Wars, but there are some great officer figs, Special forces and HW's that are unavailable now.

So many !

Minifigs ME
Minifigs SS
Minifigs VFW
Minifigs AR
Minifigs SF (1st time)
Minifigs SF (2nd range – but only the aliens)
Minifigs D&D
Chronicle miniatures – the coolest orcs ever

Why didn't I have more pocket money ?

Mithril Miniatures – when they were still pricey but affordable – why didn't I blow my salary on them ?

Metal magic – should have got a lot more of these, really nice figures fantasy and SF ranges

Asgard – why don't I have 200 of the 25mm Trimotes ? (pocketmoney again I fear)

Minot – Thane Tostig…..why oh why did they have to go out of production, I was buying as fast as I could……

Derkriegspieler Fantastique – why did they have to be more than twice the price of UK figures ? (Pocketmoney issues again here)

Garrisson – why haven't I ordered from their SS range yet ? Am I stupid ?

skinkmasterreturns15 Apr 2011 2:14 a.m. PST

I used to regret the !5mm Battlesystem fantasy figs, but with companies like Splintered Light filling out that void,it really isnt that big an issue with me,anymore.

Mapleleaf15 Apr 2011 7:25 a.m. PST

the original Spencer Smith 30mm figures featured in Charles Grant;s " The Wargame" and sold by the old gentlemen himself.

Mot exactly OOP but today are more expensive In the old days Mr Smith was a 30 minute drive from my mother in law's house so could pop in and get what I wanted plus an interesting chat.
