Hi, For a campaign this fall, I'd like to have a few fleeing fantasy townsfolk. Expressions of terror, hands in the air, etc. After looking at a lot of fantasy villager, townsfolk, etc. collections, I've found a big zero in terms of this kind of pose. There is a fleeing peasant in the GW plastic giant set, and he's exactly the type I'm looking for, but as that set is 75$ and I don't need the giant, well, no ;-). Any other ideas? Oh, and if anyone has that giant set and didn't use the peasant, I'll happily buy him off of you! |

Check out Reaper. They have townies that you might use. I think they have a set of two of merchants moving goods. |

I wonder if the Old Glory Revolting Peasants set might have some? I doubt all would be in the poses you're looking for but there may be some and the others may be passable. |

Look in various Foundry packs as well, Jim. You might find someone who has a spare victim from a raiding party. Mirliton has some civilians that might be useful, although they don't really look terrified or anything. How can you not need that giant? |
| mweaver | 03 Apr 2011 2:50 p.m. PST |
The giant is $45, not $75. USD Still a lot if all you want is the running troopie, though. They show up on eBay from time to time as bitz. Don't see any at the moment though. I have one, but you can't have it, nyah nyah nyah. |

One option might be to reposition the legs of the GW EMpire militia figures (the old Mordheim fellows) to make them look like they are running. Some of the shouting heads would work nicely, if you can get the legs right. |

I have about 25 medieval peasants I'm willing to sell on the cheap, they are more the "Let's go kill the monster" variety than fleeing variety though. If you have any interest shoot me an an email and I can send you a pic gathrawn50@hotmail.com mongo |

For females, I suppose you could get a lot of the Shadowforge females (the ones with the mouth open like blow-up dolls) and lop off their heads, and stick them on more modest female bodies. |

Take an advancing or charging figure. Cut away the weapon. Turn him around to face the other direction. Voila! |

@Striker – had checked the revolting peasants. Close, but no fear there. They look angry ;-). I'm looking for a few "Run away! Run away!" poses, as opposed to "Right! Let's get him!". @Neotacha – I bet you enjoyed saying "lop off their heads." I guess what it comes down to, is some faces that show fear. Running bodies aren't that hard to come up with, and of course in the great spirit of Frankensteen, once Igor locates the correct head

There you go, Jack, bringing logic into the thing. Where's the fun in that? Besides, I wanted to hear about his wife's reaction to the Shadowforge tartlets. |

There is a set of three out there that are running away -can't remember the name of the manufacturer. Looking now. |
| mweaver | 03 Apr 2011 7:32 p.m. PST |
I was remembering a set like that too, Flashman, but kept coming up blank on who made it. |
| jweaver | 03 Apr 2011 8:33 p.m. PST |
@Neotacha: Those are funny. They remind me of Mr. Bill from SNL. Putting a shouting head on a running body will do in a pinch. It's hard to tell fear from anger in 28mm. Some of the cannon crew heads that have their eyes closed tightly might do as well. |
Lou from BSM | 03 Apr 2011 9:29 p.m. PST |
Mirliton makes some 28mm peasants armed with pitchforks, spades, etc. They're not runnign away, rather just milling about. I use them as Horde elements for my Teutonic army. |

The same manufacturer that I can't come up with also makes a little 3-fig set of a king, queen and a prince mooning the peasantry. A third set has peasants burping, picking noses and something else ? scratching privates maybe? |

Would Redoubt's 'Fleeing Civilians' set be too late for your purposes? link Looks to me that some of these figures would be suitable for earlier or fantasy periods. And the fearful faces you want are certainly there. |
| Neotacha | 04 Apr 2011 4:12 a.m. PST |
Aha! Look at the fantascene (or is it minifigs) section of GFI's site. That's the manufacturer, Flashman. minifigs.com for you, Jim. |
| mweaver | 04 Apr 2011 4:30 a.m. PST |
Hmmmm
that link doesn't seem to work (site down for maintenance since Feb). Here is a minifigs website, but I don't see them: link |

Arteis, nice spot! to paraphrase a certain conservative female radio personality – "50 cool points!" Gracias, Glenn |
| Neotacha | 04 Apr 2011 2:47 p.m. PST |
He could certainly get away with the females in that line, and the men are easily made using Howard's suggestion. There you go, Jim. Fleeing civilians and no extraneous giant. (Although I think you still need that giant!) |
| jweaver | 04 Apr 2011 5:15 p.m. PST |
Aha, those are great. I figured if such a thing existed, someone here would turn em up. Thanks! I do like that giant! But I'm on a strict "only purchase what will be gamed with this year" budget. If only my credit card company would list all my gaming purchases as "Healthy food purchase" on my statement, I could get all kinds of neat stuff past the frosty inspection of my lovely significant other

Pass them off as school supplies for the youngest? |

There was a company that I can not remember the name some years ago. They had a newsletter called the Banner and made figs that seemed to have a lot of tin in them. From New York I think. Very hard metal to work with and sounded different when you dropped them against one another. I had some of their peasants that included the mooning royals, guys fleeing, a guy raising his hands in surrender, flipping someone off, etc. I will comb through some boxes and post a pic if I find them. |
| mweaver | 06 Apr 2011 5:00 a.m. PST |
THanks Ken. I am curious about who made them, as well. |
| KenofYork | 06 Apr 2011 4:59 p.m. PST |
I found some of those mostly tin peasants. I think this is all I have left, not sure if there were more poses. picture I am frustrated by my inability to remember the name of the guys who made them. I met them at the con and everything. All I recall is the name of the newsletter I suscribed to that stopped arriving in the mail after a short time. They had some decent minis, but the tin was hard to work with. If these fit the bill for your needs send me a PM, or contact me via klkrout AT comcast.net |

It's fantascenes, Jim. Sadly, Noble Knight games is out of the "reluctant Fighters" which is, I think the running away guys. But you might look for them on eBay, I suppose. link |
