It really depends on what I'm playing. For a period game, I try to match either period or movie soundtrack. This means swing, blues, or jazz for the gangster games; metal and/or electronica for cyberpunk, and lots of classical for most everything else. Although I heard this techno version of Orff's Carmina Burana and all I could see in my mind was Starship Troopers during an orbital assault
it just seemed to fit. Also, the intro to the Area 88 anime uses a techno remix of bach's little tocatta and fugue (classical organ version here: YouTube link ), with a jet engine spooling up laid over the intro. Now, almost any flying seems to demand classical for some reason. Lately, my RP group has started to add some things to the character sheet: what actor is playing you, signature item, theme song, etc

I don't use music with games. I need silence to concentrate, that and music would drown out my silly accents and boom bang noises. Michael, donīt forget the sound of incoming artillery shells!!! :-D Cheers Paul |
