Wow, what a blast from the past! I may have to
borrow
this idea! Now, where can I find an emulator to run the collector's edition on my Windows 7 machine? |

Wonderful stuff Luckyjoe, I love this project! Lion, dunno if this works for Windows 7 but it does for XP – see here xcomufo.com/x1faq.html |

Excellent work Luckyjoe, you really nailed it. For anyone who is interested. You can buy the X-COM games and download them through STEAM. I bought X-COM UFO Defence a couple of months ago for £2.99, and you can get the entire X-COM bundle for £8.99. |

Very nice work, good composition. I;d love to read the AAR. |

Hi, folks. Thanks! And I've been playing the Steam version on my Windows 7 laptop with only minor problems. It comes bundled with a DosBox version that works. I may be able to do an AAR in a little while, about a week or two with luck. |

Oh, beautiful
You sir, have truly inspired me. And guys, you don't need emulators or any of that trash to run X-com on windows 7. Just DO NOT install it in the Program Files(x86) registry and set it's compatibility to Win95. I personally had to pirate it because though Steam offers it, they're not getting another penny of my cash after they banned the account with the key to my Counterstrike/Day of Defeat box some time ago for "Hacking." (As if I was intelligent enough to hack 7 years ago when I was 15 and didn't own my own computer, let alone know anything about them. Pshaw!) |

Great work and a shame that a skirmish system never appeared, it would make a excellent game. |

I thought I would mention the excellent UFO:AI ( link ) which is Open Source and thus free. |
