Which 1990 and later Tanks/AFV's/APC's are you most wishing to see made this year in 15mm? My "short" list would be: T-90 link Cougar link and anything below from the PLA: link link link link link picture Those are the biggies. Then maybe some more Hummer and Styrker variants. |

QRF has got a Cougar, in their British range, but yeah, there should be way more Chinese stuff out there. |

MGS, Recce, Command Stryker varients. Throw in the ATGM and Mortar varients of the Stryker too. MRAPs of all flavors especially some of the US ones (the QRF Mastiff won't work for a US Cougar really). More MRAPS. Maybe some of the current MRAPS. Up-armored HEMMTs and LMTVs Maybe some of the current MRAPS

I'll second the M1117. Good call. I seem to remember hearing QRF should have an M1A2 TUSK out soonish. Has anyone mentioned we could use some MRAPs yet ;) After seeing the GHQ news item with their 6mm ones

"QRF has got a Cougar, in their British range" Indeed they do! Thanks. link "Strykers with screens?"
Yep, I agree. I think I asked Geoff from QRF about that before and he said he could do it but just be a matter of cost per item to make. Not unrelated, I got an email from Nic at Eureka Minis yesterday (you all know how I love Eureka ;-)
He said he would take any Modern AFV submission to the P300 program and put it into production once it hit 75 preorders (not the normal 600 for figures) which is pretty reasonable! So consider which Modern AFV's you really want and that are marketable enough to get 75 pre-orders and send off your requests! link Along those lines, two others from the ISAF forces in Afghanistan I'd like to see are the Polish Rosomak: picture and the Canadian LAV-III. I doubt I'd get anywhere near 75 orders if I submitted either of those badboys though :-( |
Barks1 | 13 Mar 2011 3:11 a.m. PST |

"Strykers with screens?"Yep, I agree. I think I asked Geoff from QRF about that before and he said he could do it but just be a matter of cost per item to make. I periodically return to explore options. We have experitmented with casting lattice forms, but the porbability of incomplete castings is very high. The other option is brass etching, but it basically doubles the cost of the model (i.e £6.00 GBP for the model, plus about £7-10 for the brass etched screens) |

"The other option is brass etching, but it basically doubles the cost of the model (i.e £6.00 GBP GBP for the model, plus about £7-10 for the brass etched screens" I'd buy 'em! ;-) I know my 10 or so doesnt justify your production costs but I figured Id let you know there are some out there who would pay for that level of detail. On a side note, I'm surprised the T-90 hasnt gotten more votes based on the different countries that are using it now: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-90 |

I'm surprised the [xxxx] hasnt gotten more votes based on the different countries that are using it now This is one of the commonly encountered problems with modern vehicles. With many countries now producing their own, there are so many different vehicles that the depth of potential sale makes it hard to warrant producing everything that might be liked. Our Stryker was a direct result of 'customer voting', yet took almost a year before 'interest' turned into actual 'sales' sufficent to justify the production (and yes, it was produced before screens were commonly used). The Mastiff was produced in direct response to an Army request for tactical training. |

I'm probably gonna give the Eureka 300 program a run on the T-90. I'll be good for about 10 so that means I only have to get promises for another 65 to get it cast :-) I figure I can sell it to some of the sci-fi crowd too as the turret and body will make for nice conversions with Old Crow or other 15mm SF tanks. Other than that, I may submit an PLA AFV or 2 to Eureka that you are not planning to produce Geoff ;-) |

so im not a Modern gamer, but i do play near-future scifi. and, kinda like what UK said, ultramodern vehicles can be great in scifi for low tech forces or reserves and the like. just something to consider, that modern gamers arent the only potential customers and i'd also like to see the Fennek in 15mm. |
