Napoleon was 5 foot 8 inches in Imperial measure! Remember the French pouce of his era was 9/8 of an English inch. Stop proposing dwarfs as actors for the emperor!

The ultimate Waterloo movie has been done. Rod Steiger vs. Christopher Plummer. Both Canadians!

spontoon I agree with you about Waterloo no one today can come close to what Rod Steiger did as Napoleon.

Ricky Gervais is five foot eight and therefore perfect to play Napoleon. Rod Steiger was five ten and so was hopelessly miscast.

Napoleon was a smug bastard with an inflated view of his own importance, so Ricky Gervaise is perfect casting.

How about Charlie Sheen then?

Ricky Gervais and Napoleon have exactly the same hat size, 7 5/8. Charlie Sheen has a surprisingly small head, 6 3/4, and so could not possibly play Napoleon. *

Rod Steiger wore a 6 7/8. He would have had to stuff Napoleon's chapeau with a lot of newspaper before he could wear it convincingly.

Also many leading psychologists believe that Napoleon may have been suffering from a 'Ricky Gervais complex'.

SJDonovan the hat Rod Steiger was wearing in the film fit pretty good IMHO.

And lets face it Rod Steiger was one one of if the best actor to play Napoleon as far as I see it.

And there's NO actor today good enough to play Napoleon.

You're guaranteed a good thread if it has Bill Shatner in it. Just think, if he did play Napoleon, he'd be the second Jewish Canadian actor to do so, following in the footsteps of ole Rod!

In 50 years' time, Justin Bieber will be packing the threads in the samw way, I feel sure.

I think the real question to come out of this is could Rod Steiger have played T. J. Hooker?

Saw Shatner over the weekend. He mentioned that he was going to be 80 this week…maybe today. Looked good.
