…what is your "fall-back" miniatures game?
That is to say, if you all want toplay a miniatures game, but you have nothing immediately set up or reqady, what miniatures game do you wind up playing on such short notice?
For us it's usually "Full Thrust/More Thrust", with "Wings of War" a close second.

Yes….
A homebrew AWI/F&IW skirmish game with a horror flair…
It was Strange Aeons, but we have since moved on…
But lots of talk about this Cutlass game from Black Scorpion…

It used to be Blood and Swash Pirate saloon brawls.
However, it's been a while since we had a committal non-committed.

This past year it's been 5150 or SOBH… depending on who shows up and what sort of mood they're in.

If we manage to coordinate our schedules to actually get together and play then we try and organize a game too.

Although VSF seems to be the default if no one else has an idea.

For the regular weekly games, either play testing home brew WWII or Wings of War. But we have a enough people with a wide range of interests there is almost something different.

For me its Crusader – I can usually arrange a game with someone.

We have a lot of 40k players – but there is a lot of variety

Scorpio25 Feb 2011 9:55 p.m. PST

The past year's been AE-WWII.

Usually Battalions in Crisis or WRG 6th. Otherwise it's planned in advance.

dejvid25 Feb 2011 11:43 p.m. PST

We never do not have a game set up. In the unlikely event that someone had to cancel we would email round to cancel.
But usually someone has something in the pipeline that they can put on a bit sooner than expected.

Song of Blades and Heroes is our standard game. It is by far the most played game and the only one that everyone has played.

ordinarybass26 Feb 2011 9:46 a.m. PST

I'm in Tim's group, so my answer is the same. SoBH is an excelent standard game since almost everyone already has suitable figures and new members can learn it in about 30 minutes.

Dasher26 Feb 2011 1:29 p.m. PST

Wow, this is pretty cool; barring folks in the same clubs, almost everyone gave different answers!
I dunno why, but that makes me feel good for the hobby overall…
