Here is a link to photos of some Minifigs Early Imperial Romans that I painted back in 1984-5:

link

I intend to add flocking to the bases, rebase the individual figures on four figure bases and base the newer figures that are mounted on tongue depressors.

These were among the first figures I ever painted. They were intended to be used in WRG 6th edition and were based accordingly. I will be documenting this entire project as I progress. I want to learn how to take better pictures of the miniatures, do the basing, find the best material to mount the figures and a whole slew of other things. I may do it as a workbench project here or I may just blog it or (most probably) both.

Feedback and suggestions in any form for any reason will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

A-joe,

Good for you. I would search the archives at photographing miniatures section to find useful tips.

Thanks for the link timurilank. Can you believe I did not realize there was a "Photography of Miniatures" board here on TMP? I don't think of myself as a bad photographer – link – but I've never made much of an effort to photograph miniatures before. I'm sure I'll pick up lots of good tips there and do a better job on the next batch.

20thmaine, I am going to keep them based to the WRG 6th/7th/DBA/DBM/HotT standards. I'm not switching rules, but these minis need some fixing up.

And I think I know how I am going to work the exposition. On my blog I will share photos and give background, but I will submit the actual articles on what and how I did things to the workbench section here. Maybe I can knock that Orc Glyph off the front page… grin
