but you can't take the trailer park outta the boy
A while back Miniature Building Authority had a sale I took advantage of. I bought two of their mobile homes, thinking to start up a trailer park to use for near future/zombie apocalypse/bikers against cops/rednecks against revenuer scenarios. ( link is what it looks like new) I live in rural Georgia and pass trailer homes all the time. None of them looked as nice as the ones delivered by MBA. So
. I decided to age them a tiny bit. Here are some pictures of the first one (have not even started the second yet). The inside is still white, not sure how I want to do it yet. picture picture picture picture More pictures here: link Thanks for looking! Jake |

Gotta get some cheap-looking wall paper from a dollhouse retailer for the inside complete with girly posters off the web and reduced with any paint program on your computer. Those folks look sho-nuff like some folks I drove past daily when I lived in Florida
complete with Daisy Dukes and rebel flag. |

Hmm, I see MBA gives you a washing machine to put on the porch, but where's the broken down couch/easy chair and refrigerator (so the l'il woman doesn't have to get you a beer – you old softy, you)? |

Great work on that, really looks the part for a post-apoc trailer. |

Couches, fridge, old matresses, garbage cans/piles, and tires are being weathered this week! Most come from Black Cat Bases. I still need a old car on blocks, and a sat dish and propane tank. |

"Great work on that, really looks the part for a post-apoc trailer." Nothing post-apoc about it. Reminded me of growing up. "sniff" |

Great job! My only problem is that the model doesn't have tail lights! |

Who needs tail lights when she has head lights like that? Wait, what were your referring to ? |

For some cheaper trailers to work with take a look at the plasticville stuff

Looks great. Post an update when you get all the yard accessories finished. |

One thing is that there are some trailer parks near where I live that actually seem somewhat upscale. It might be the environment as well, since a lot of the southern states have higher humidity which would prompt the rusting. Also, a lot of the trailer parks nearby are larger, being double or triple side by side. They also seem to be more inhabited by the older generations rather than the usual stereotype. |

Don't forget a barbecue and a wading pool (to fill with ice and set the keg in when the rug rats aren't using it). Ah hell
.. don't forget a 4-wheeler or two, and christmas lights on the sill and front porch. Maybe some Gretchin Wilson music in the background too
.. In fact, to go from Georgia to rural Maine, just swap out the 4-wheeler with a couple snowmobiles. |

If set in Maine, the yard needs a boat. Rusting, preferably. |

All that's missing is the Wal-Mart parking lot to put it in

Excellent trailer and redneck citizens! A walmart would be cool! |

Don't forget the 20 year old non functioning car on cinderblocks with 8 years of overgrowth
That trailer is really cool. |

Awesome trailer! I love what you did with the rebel flag. Now all you need a Walmart and you're set! |

If you do add an outdoor propane tank, make sure to make the weld seams rusty and the rest a dingy silver-gray. The overgrown car on blocks is also a must have. A rusted out swing set would be a nice touch. Interior should have a sink with rust stains and lots and lots of dirty dishes. And a garbage can overflowing with beer cans, bottles, and Taco Bell wrappers. Then it'll look just like the one a friend of mine lived in in Jefferson County, Tennessee. |

Thanks for the comments so far. Somewhere in my storage building is a box of Armorcast and Ainsty stuff. I am pretty sure I have a propane tank and maybe even an old car in there. Of course if I can find a nioce 1:43 or so diecast I can tear up that would work too. Key thing for me is time, I don't have a place to paint (use the kitchen table) so time to set up the painting area, paint and take it down is an issue. Add in the 'Geographic Single Parent and Farm Manager' aspects of my life and I need to use fast techniques which look okay on the table. This met those conditions. As for an interior, I want to keep it open for figure placement (not a lot of floor area) but don't like it as plain as it is. I need to think that through a little (and again, will need a fast/easy solution). I know there are O-scale trailers I could have gotten, but honestly most of te ones I have seen are very cheap looking and I am not sure I want to spend the time it would take to make them look okay. I don't like the colors this comes in, BUT the basic building is game terrain sturdy and had the look I was after. Jake |

Definitely not authentic.. the stars on the Reb flag are all wrong! Otherwise, I can hear SKYNYRD playing. Nice job. |

<<Don't forget the 20 year old non functioning car on cinderblocks with 8 years of overgrowth
>> You need 3 cars. One that runs, one that almost can run and the last one is for parts. |

That looks great. Maybe try some dark stained wood paneling for the interior. Could print it on paper or get some textured wood from Micromark. Must have something suitable upon which to hang the velvet Elvis/Jesus/Dogs Playing Poker. |

That is outstanding, Jake! It looks just like some that I've seen driving through Florida and Georgia. I need to think about getting one of those

.no, dear, I was just doing some research for a painting project
