Why do we have to wait until figures are painted to know what the heck you are talking about? Dan |

My guess would be that the larger scale of vehicles and the general availability of nice CAD pictures (since many are done that way) makes it easier to show them off in an unpainted state and still have the important details stand out enough to still have the WOW factor. For small 15mm figures, even with a black wash or similar the details do not stand out quite enough to have anywhere near the same WOW factor that they have once well painted. Some people will form opinions based solely on the look of a green or bare metal and tell you they hate the mini (leading to a lot of interesting discussions), but then once they see it painted, they have a completely different view of the mini because they can now see more than they could in its unfinished state. After a few such events some people decide painted is a better option and avoids some of the issues and misunderstandings. I have worked with a number of 28mm companies that had a similar policy (well at least at the start until they got too far behind on painting and needed to sell some minis) so it does not seem too weird. Just my guess. Jeff (All of the above also leaves out the armchair sculptors and their like that want to tell you what is wrong with the minis and expect you will make changes to them since what you showed was a "green" and those are not fished and can be sent back to the sculptor to have their wonderful suggestions implemented. When the minis is not changed, they throw a fit and bewail the injustice and short sightedness of the manufacturer for not seeing their vision and implementing it in metal.) |

Similar thought here – far easier to properly (and flatteringly) preview a CAD sculpt than a 15mm high bit of green stuff

Dan, you have enough projects to work on without worrying what else is coming out! Now get back to work! :O) Mongo I should really take my own advice

Yep. Based on my experience even finished greens can look "wonky." So by the time you have a finished metal casting it only adds a bit of time to get it painted anyway

I really like the picture of the cat wearing the straw boater
gets me every time |

Anyone do a mini of a cat with straw boater? There's been one of a sad panda. |

Photographing greens is hard enough, let alone 15mm ones. I'm not pro, but even my best stuff that people like in person looks like crap in pictures. |

Pictures of 15's are hard to get
for sure. |

This does remind me, wasnt there some walkers Khurasan made? |

I've always felt that Khurasan played his cards 'too close to the chest' at times, but it seems to work fine for him and we have been positively spoiled with vehicle previews lately! I'm a treadhead anyway, I can be patient with the infantry. -Will |

I for one
like that he doesn't put them up for sale until painted and pics are provided. Having no pictures has stopped many a sale from me personally, and I'm sure lack of pics kills many a possible sale to others as well. |
