The Armaments in Miniature (AIM) minis are very nice with crisp, clean casting. These minis have very fine panel lines that are obvious but not overstated.

I believe Don at The Goblin Factory is coming out with some decals for these AIM kits. I used a combination of I-94 Enterprises decals and Dom's Decals on these minis. I used Rust-Oleum primer and painted the minis with Vallejo Model Colors paints.

really nice work. The models' quality and your own personal ability are a good match!

Beautiful work as always, Kevin.

If I was just starting to collect WWII aircraft today, this is the scale I would choose.

Kevin, as always, a great job of painting these models. You make them come alive.

Very nice. With the real take off in popularity of WW2 air gaming lately due to CY6, 1/200 is the perfect scale for it.

Exceptionally nice models made to look even better by a great paint scheme. I am starting to build my own collection of Luftwaffe planes and I was wondering if you could tell us what Vallejo colours you have used. I guess these would be based on the RLM numbers 70/71/65.

Thanks

Looks like all of those have these colors: 108 lt sea gray, 093 violet brown, and 100 black green.

I used 108 lt sea gray, 101 green gray, and 092 olive gray on this Air200 Bf-110.

Thanks for that, your models are truely inspiring. I am working on 1/300 scale planes.

Cheers!

DB,
if you want to check out the RLM colours (chips from Merricks book on Luftwaffe camo) versus a number of hobby paints have a look at a chart I made for this purpose.

Kevin,

I just received some of Dave's 1/200 models. Your painting is super, and the models are truly fine reproductions. I look forward to pursuing this line of gaming with his resin aircraft.

As usual, Kev, your painting looks great! Just wish AIM had done them in 1/144…. :-)

That comparison chart is priceless. Thanks for posting it.

Oberst Radl21 Jun 2012 7:03 p.m. PST

BTW, did you airbrush them or freehand them?

miscmini Fezian22 Jun 2012 6:26 a.m. PST

Freehand. I like the comparison chart as well. I sometimes find that the colors presented on the monitor look different than when they're actually applied to minis. I've taken to applying small amounts of paint to factory-second/slightly damaged models and using them as a go-to for comparing paints. Here are a couple…
