I'm running a Space 1889 mini game in which there are large mobs of Martian civilians to complicate things. I was think 2D paper counters would be ideal. Has anyone come across any home grown counters to represent mobs? Thanks |

I made some mobs for a game by making a "cloud" from blue foam painted to match the ground color to create a dust cloud and based it on a CD. Then I added random arms sticking out the sides and plenty of pitchforks and spears sticking out the top. Some cotton balls in the same color to make the cloud wispier and a few stray civilians finished it off. Not a work of art but kept the players on their toes. |

I created seating grandstands full of generic people for a racing game. I used about a 1/3 of each end of a Cotton swab (Q-tip) to represent a person (discard the middle third). I painted the cotton swab portion (more like dipping them into thinned down paint) a different color (blues, reds, greens, yellows, blacks, browns, etc.) and then glued them into the stands. It looks like mobs of people sitting it the stands from a short distance. It was certainly quick and easy to do. You could probably do something similar and mount them to a flat base. Just cut the pieces a little longer/shorter for a variety of people heights. |

created seating grandstands full of generic people That is extraordinarily clever, and a terrific solution. Props to cory as well! |
