I noticed that the PLA has 300+ on the board too! I just ordered 75 of the guys. That means that the PLA isn't that far out from being done too. We just need some more gamers to step-up and put some orders into the kiddy. The PLA miniatures in question are modern Chinese People's Liberation Army miniatures, who would be excellent foes for the Russians and Americans. The Russians exist in 15mm, although granted, as Cold War troops with older weapons and uniforms. Americans come in several flavors from QRF (some nice figures), Peter Pig (the best castings in opinion), and Rebel Miniatures (pretty good castings). However there are NO PLA Modern 15mm troops at all. So what would you use them for? The PRC is swiftly becoming a superpower and is making its presence felt around the globe. They would do a yoeman's service as foes for the US and Russia. It would also be a lot of fun to take them down Ambush Alley or even see how they would stack against swarms of zombies or whatever else you have in mind. Back the 90's SSI came out with an excellent video game called "The People's General". It revolves all around a resurgent China kicking off WWIII by invading Russia and Taiwan. Check out the opening of the game for ideas about how these PLA guys can make modern gaming a whole lot more interesting. And be sure to order a few of these guys! People's General Opening: YouTube link By the way, the USS George Washington was the carrier that had China complaining when she sailed for Korea to participate in wargames in November. This scenario isn't all that far fetched. Here are the minis: link Now we need some tanks and other supporting arms. QRF has an APC: link However WZ 551s/Type 92s would be much better! 8D en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WZ551 |

No US companies making them??? I guess those 15mm PLA figs in my commission painting work queue are for catalog photos, then. Better get those done so everyone else can see them. :) |

Not that I'm aware of. As far as I know, the only other Chinese miniatures out there are for the Korea War. Kinda dated eh? The only company I'm aware of that is planning to actually do 15mm Modern Chinese is QRF and Geoff said that he had a lot of other stuff to do before they come around. I'll quite happily buy from Geoff when his stuff comes out (I have around 200 US/USMC troops from QRF, Rebel, and Peter Pig!). So the more the merrier. By the way Battle, any chance you can disclose who's minis (the company) you're painting? |

I poked him about it – if they're ready to go soon I'm sure he'll pipe up. EDIT: It's Rebel Minis – just got the okay from him to say so. :) |

I can see the PLA Navy landing expeditionary forces throughout the EU and in the United States and seizing customs houses to collect on defaulted loans. Just like was done to them in the 19th C. |

Will the US or EU develop indiginous Secret Societies schooled in obscure martial arts to fight the "short nosed barbarians"? Will the Klan unite with skinheads and Freemasons to fight for Western Liberty versus their colonial oppressors? |

How about the Wolverines? |

Thanks for the encouagement Tgunner. Yep, they dont have too far to go. As the original submitter I ordered a platoon myself. I think these will really take off once Red Dawn comes out. These would also work well as low-tech SF troops. |

Great news. Rebel Mini's were rumoured to be bringing out the PLA but now its true. Can't wait to see them. |

Agreed Tobruk, good news indeed. And, fingers crossed, we should have three companies putting out PLA in 15mm in 2011. |

Oh yes Blue! Definitely a Sino-Russian War in the offing! I'm also VERY pleased with how the Modern Eastern European Nato (for me, Poles) and Chechens are doing. Im looking forward to doing some Russian v. Chechen gaming by the end of 2011. link |
