This thread got me thinking TMP link and after days of consulting ancients sources in the original Lucasonian language I have found the answer. Stormtrooper armour acts as a deflection device for blaster weapons. It is not perfect and the occasional blast does get through. Think if it as a force field that deflects the path of the blast. Hence all the missed shots. Unfortunately in the Imperial days the chips that deactivates the suits ability to effect the field when a stormtroop shoots were defective and many of the shots fired by the stormtroopers were also affected thus the hit miss ratio of the stormtroopers when firing at Rebel scum! That's my story and I am sticking to it. VR James Mattes |

I always thought it was because the Imperial procurement rules gave the contract to the lowest bidder. |

I always just assumed the the Empire wore Reflec to a PGMP fight. Oh, very nice. I'd have gone with a Star Frontiers ref instead – Albedo Screen to a Sonic Devastator fight, maybe? :) |

Obi means the son of Andy. Juan was the first son and Whan was the second son. It was understandable as many confussed Obi Juan and Obi Whan were much alike but the older son was reportedly kicked out of the Jedi Academy under don't ask don't tell. VR James Mattes |

"Remember, Stormtrooper! You can substantially increase your chances of survival from blaster shots by giving your armor several coats of Nice'n Shiny Armor Wax, the only armor wax that provides a stain-resistant super-tough reflective finish! And, it looks great too!" |

In 15mm or 28mm, what miniatures would you use for stormtroopers? I mean to say, other than the plastic collectible types, which are fine
but I am looking for your thoughts on using other companies miniatures to fill the same role. For example: 15mm Rebel Minis link link paint these guys in the classic black under coat and white armor, storm troopers. Thoughts? |

@Terrement The Stormtrooper's accuracy is in disproportion to their numbers, the more of them there are the worse their aim becomes. This is also known as the "Stormtrooper Effect". When there are a lot of them none actually takes aim as they just assume one of them is bound to land a shot. So when Obi-wan points out the accuracy of the blast marks, what he's not telling you is that it was only 2 or 3 Stormtroopers that actually attacked the Jawa's and their sandcrawler. |
